A brief yet comprehensive overview of the German campaigns against France and the Low Countries in the late spring of 1940. As can be expected with books published by Ian Allan, it is well-illustrated, has an adequate number of maps, with compelling sidebars on prominent personalities. I have been reading about this campaign, off and on, for 50 years and even for me, this book had a few new details and tidbits. Memorably, that the 1SS Panzer Division had a skeleton key as its divisional insignia as its first commander's name, Dietrich, translates as "lockpick" or skeleton key.
