Sweet, clean story about a woman who feels invisible to people. Encouraged by her cousin she takes a month to go clean out her grandmother's home and find some passion for something in life. Her relationship with Trigg and his grandmother grows during her time there and leads to a happily ever after where Candace is no longer invisible.

I could relate to characters in this story. I think sometimes we all feel a little invisible and could use some strength to "put ourselves out there" and be seen. I could relate to Trigg and his care for his grandmother and struggling to figure out how to best help her. And sometimes it is hard to figure out what it is that God would like us to do in life so I understood that too.

The religious themes are pretty mild for most of the book. Toward the end there is a little stronger push but it isn't overwhelming or out of place for the characters in the story.

I pondered the title of this book and wondered why not just "The Invisible Woman" or "The Woman in the Red Dress" but to get the gist of the book it really needs to be as is. Candace really does feel like the invisible woman but as she grows as a person during that month away from her daily life she moves to a person who can put on a red dress. Someone in a red dress is definitely not invisible. Candace no longer content to be invisible is willing to don that red dress and be visible to all.

You get a recipe from the story as well.

No sex, language or violence.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Too desperate

Sometimes we use the word God to justify all that is wrong about us. As a believer our first obligation is to understand the discrepancies between whom Jesus says we are and the life we actually live. We cannot claim to be led by the Spirit and yet never ask Him what is the matter with us. It is fundamental to effective and successful Christian living. A lot of the issues in this book arise out of the failure we as Christian women face when we don't see that all that is good, bad or ugly about us is earmarked for a Jesus upgrade. And one of our blindsides is knowing how much of our religious fervour is driven by misconceptions and another is breaking traditions we learn from our community - whether our social, familial or denominational.
And yes, even denominations who claim to be free can have issues. That's why understanding Revelation 2-3 is critical. But that can only occur if we bypass the baby Christian stage. And the only thing that assures that is putting in more effort than we do maintaining our friendships into developing our intimacy with Jesus.
Barbados ah come from.

Candance is been an invisible person all her life. Now, her cousin Addison challenges her to four weeks in Twisty Creek to sort throug her gradmother’s house after her death five years ago. When Candance met Triggs, her crush from high school, and grandson of her grandmother’s neighbor Miss Mildred, she feels her heart beat faster. Triggs will help fix the house, but will Candance let him fix her heart? A heart-warming story. I received this book free. This is my honest review.

I liked this story. Candace has felt invisible her whole life. When she goes home to fix up her grandmother’s home to put it on the market, she reconnects with a former classmate, who is visiting his grandmother next door. He helps her with some home repairs, and she keeps an eye on his grandmother when he goes back to work. They gradually grow closer, and help each other figure out new life paths so they can be together. I’m looking forward to other books in this series.

I enjoy reading Zoe's books and this one's my favorite so far. I saw myself in Candace as feeling at times invisible and struggling to understand God's call. I enjoyed reading about Candace and Trigg's romance. I hope Zoe returns to Twisty Creek so I can know what happens in the lives of Gram, Brayden, and Billie Jean.

So sweet

Omg I couldnt of even guessed what would of happened. I love mrs Mildred or grams. It is sad someone had to die for others to find each other and be happy but everything happens for a reason.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this romance. Glad to see the encouragement to Christians that everyone can be involved in the mission field, even when staying 'here'. We certainly saw the power of prayer as prayer warriors prayed for us and felt the gap when the Lord took them home.

A top read.

McCarthy has done it again with this excellent story. Her writing style is so smooth and clean. Her characters are always so real. There's nothing like the girl who feels invisible to catch the eye of the high school hunk after they grow up. And the mountain setting makes it all feel just right. These five stars are well deserved.
