My daughter Bree was born with a rare chromosome deletion called Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (Deletion 4P). The diagnosis I received from the doctors was that my daughter would be lucky to live 5 years, never move or recognize anyone and that seizures/epilepsy would take over her life even with medications.
In my desperate search for solutions, I found Macrobiotics, which was the plant based nutrition foundation I build on over the next 3 decades. Bree’s Way Cookbook is the result of cooking healing level, plant based foods for my daughter Bree during her lifetime.
I knew that I was on to something very powerful when Bree’s grand mal seizures stopped once we were two years into eating a plant based diet. Bree got healthier and healthier as the years went on. Once we began eating organic plant based foods, Bree did not see a doctor for illness and only for a yearly check-up. The last 5 years of her life she did not even a cold. Bree taught me that we are definitely what we eat.
It took me years of research and reading, literally, hundreds of books to create a strong plant based diet for Bree. I could not turn to medicine as it is not concerned with health and the media presents us with complicated reports, instead of advising us to eat real, whole, organic and unprocessed foods.
