My name is Yuki Shiro. I am the daughter of winter and shadow. Since birth, I have been trained to be a thief, a spy, and an assassin. My wicked stepmother sent me on a mission to Colorado, where I am expected to infiltrate a hidden, underground city and steal something she calls the Black Mirror.
I have no doubts it’s a death sentence, all some scheme to get me out of Japan and out of the way, but I can’t refuse the mission; all I can do is hope to survive it and thwart whatever she’s planning, because it cannot be good.
My help? Let’s see, there’s an untrustworthy feline shifter whose loyalties are unclear. I can’t forget the ancient dragon shifter who’s claimed me as his mate and is determined to keep me out of trouble. There’s also a stranger who keeps showing up where I least expect him, claiming that I’m his anam cara—whatever that means. Of course, I’m thankful that I have my terror squad, my friends, who dropped everything to come provide back-up support. Unfortunately, I also have my family of yuki-onna, who are hopping around the United States on some weird bender, leaving chaos in their wake—I just hope they don’t pick up any tanks on their way.
So, now, I have to get passed the Sidhe to find their secret city, keep my friends and family from starting an international supernatural incident, deal with relentless attacks coming at me from the Enoch, find and steal the mirror, get back to Japan, figure out what’s going on with my stepmother, and stop what this glowing symbol on my chest from drawing me into more entanglements!
Did I mention my nightmares are getting worse? Yes, the ones where I’m being stalked by a terrifying beast. Oh, then there’s this infuriating man that keeps preventing me from sneaking into the UnderSidhe? I feel like I’m being toyed with, and I don’t like it…and just what in the name of Susanō’s Sacred Sake is that blasted humming sound?
I have just one chance to get through this or I’m doomed. There are some fates worse than death.
Guess it’s time to show the world why the Shiro Clan has the reputation that we’ve earned, and that while I may not be fully transformed yet, I’m the scariest of them all.
Yuki Shiro: 1 Chance is the follow-up to Yuki Shiro: 0 Absolutes, as the Yōkai (Japanese Supernaturals) continue to converge upon the Cœur de Lyon Estates in Colorado, where the American supernaturals have established their Sanctuary. It picks up where 0 Absolutes leaves off, but while it is connected to the world introduced in the series, “A Renaissance Flair” novels, no previous knowledge of those books is required; although it is recommended that you read 0 Absolutes before this one.
The Night Parade is a shared world series focusing on the myths, legends, and monsters of Japan, as they make their presence felt in the United States. Yuki Shiro is a Paranormal Reverse Harem/Polyamorous Urban Fantasy Romance, with one woman and a bunch of guys who are all fated to be together. There will be some sword-crossing, both figuratively and literally, but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
