Volume One of this two-volume primer program systematically teaches Hebrew decoding through the first ten of Z'man Likro's twenty engaging and substantial lessons (the next ten lessons are in Volume Two). Includes structured Reading Pages for practice and evaluation as well as creative worksheets for reinforcement. Dictionary included in each volume.
This Hebrew primer is very helpful in introducing the student to the Hebrew alphabet. This book uses a lot of helpful graphics for the student. The choice of words leans towards two syllable vocabulary. This seems to be a drawback in many introductory grammars for Hebrew.
I enjoyed and applauded the use of Jewish customs and culture in the choice of subject matter and readings. There were references to Hebrew prayers but nothing extensive.
The book omitted any references to simple readings from the biblical text. Yet the Hebrew given to the pupil from this primer would have been conducive to an introduction to the Hebrew Bible.
I have been learning Hebrew for some time but I would definitely say that I'm a beginner. I used this book as a complement to other language teaching textbooks and I'd say this has been fun. It is aimed for children but it surely added some new vocab to my list. recommend for beginners and children
Has been great for teaching my 10 year old students to read Hebrew over Zoom. Sometimes I take pictures of the activity pages and the kids then annotate on the screen.
