A brief, but also detailed, history of the suffragette movement from its early days through to 1929 with a useful appendix that continues the story with significant incidents to date of publication. The Pankhursts, the tragic Emily Wilding Davison, killed at the Derby in 1913, and many others worked hard to achieve their aim and this book is ideal reading to get a feel for it all. Prothetically the author ends with "Perhaps you will live to see a lady Prime Minister"!
