This is a picture filled encyclopedia of one of the most majestic wonders of the world. The book offers a first hand account of the travels of a Himalayan monk, whom I was fortunate to meet at his Hermitage in Garhwal region, across the Himalayan mountains. While a significant portion of the book is dedicated to the pilgrimage centers of Garhwal region, owing to their popularity among tourists, the author also covers deeper regions of Himalayas in the north and eastern zones.
