Biosensors: Applications in Medicine, Environmental Protection, and Process Control

Rate this book
Combining the accomplishments of microelectronics and biotechnology, biosensor design is a rapidly growing area of research. This monograph, which comprises the proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Biosensors, May 1989, clearly reflects the increasing importance of the field in its comprehensive treatment of the subject. Close to seventy contributions illustrate current biosensor developments in Central Europe. The topics covered include enzyme electrodes, field effect transistors, optrodes, flow injection systems and membranes/monofilms. Some of the novel concepts described in the papers will undoubtedly stimulate international research. Similarly some of the equipment presented at the workshop will soon find their way to the marketplace.
