If I were younger, I would buy this book as a good history of wallpaper designs: designs that have become classics over time. My own favorites are the hand painted silks by de Gournay. The chapters break down into: Floral, Nature, Animal, Toile, Chinoiserie, Paisley, Damask, Geometric (my least favorite), Ikat, Stripes, Abstract and Iconic. Some pages show an entire page of the pattern. Wallpaper goes through favor throughout the eras. The last big wallpaper push I can remember was in the 1970's. It's time for a revival.
