The first half of this beautiful book is techniques. stitch guide and everything you will need to know to create these wonderfully realistic 'pictures'.
The tuition within the pages are something that people pay good money for, so this is a book well worth having if you area fan of embroidery.
Katrina Witten has given us a masterclass in her art, and the projects that are included are absolutely stunning.
Even if you are a beginner embroiderer, you will be able to start making something that will have a professional look and a gorgeous finish. The use of organza, beads and other embellishments give texture and form.
The author is a regular guest on Hochanda, a craft channel on TV, and you can buy the project kits through them. It does make things easy, but you can create and build up your design using your own items.
Applique and other techniques are simply demonstrated and explained, and each project has a picture tutorial to guide you. There are templates included, and what I loved about this book is the array of colour that is used to give the designs a delightful and brilliant look.
The flowers include beautiful Cornflowers, Cow Parsley, Poppies and so much more, it really is a walk through a summer field.
This is an affordable book that could be a gift for embroidery lovers, and it is one that is well worth the shelf space in your craft room.
