Oooooof that was a lot

Nice and detailed, quite a few discussions of underlying mechanisms. Last couple of chapters get repetitive, but I suppose that's necessary when mechanisms keep coming up. Some sections feel like they were just written by an expert, with no regard for whether the reader would actually understand them. But as I said, that's only some sections.
