This historical novel is about Margaret Tudor, sister to Henry VIII, and follows her through her first two marriages (the first to the King of Scotland).
Unfortunately, the author breaks the "show don't tell" rule consistently here. Margaret's life is rendered in a dry-as-dust manner, and none of the characters came alive, though at times they try.
I finished the novel, but mainly because it was a book I could carry around more easily than anything else I was reading.
For a better novel about Margaret, try Jean Plaidy's The Thistle and the Rose. It's a little dry too, but it's better than this one
