You need to have some rain to see the rainbow...

And there's lots of rain and hail in Scout's life. But she keeps moving forward. Before her dad died, Scout had a good family life but then it all fell to pieces. Her reality has been getting worse, but she just wants to make it to 18. She is going to survive, and she's willing to fight for that survival. When she ends up in a new place, one that isn't much better than the old, she discovers that she doesn't have to do it on her own. She finds a fa

I loved this book! An emotional YA romance that is dramatic, heartfelt and intense, and beautifully written. I was instantly sucked in and couldn’t put it down, and I loved this gorgeous story.

Between the raindrops is not a book for everyone. It contains triggers such as drug use, human trafficking (though it doesn't dive too deep and no one is harmed), physical abuse and some mental. I felt so sorry for the characters and I cried for Scout. She goes through a lot of bad situations and she doesn't deserve any of it. I wanted to get into the book and promise her that everything was going to be ok. She matures a lot in this book and I loved how she stood up to the people who harmed her. ...more

This has a lot of heartfelt emotions pouring through the pages of this book. Although there is a romance at the center of it all, the majority of the book is about dealing with, and surviving life and all the things it can throw at you. There are a few chuckles throughout, but it is more of a heavy, somber read. The young girl in question has dealt with more than any one person should, yet instead of getting angry and lashing out on the world, she puts her energy into her schoolwork and writing ...more

Such a great story...

This is a great story especially for me because it's given me a pint of view in what my daughter has gone through since I'm a recovering addict. My backstory is similar to this story. Dr prescribed pain meds and it goes from there. No excuses but it's hard and to hear a point of view from the child's perspective was just what I needed. The author made it so realistic and told it is such a way that it made it seem like it was my own life and I love that...

Thanks so much for t

An amazing story, filled with so much emotion.
~~~~~~Sydney Logan gives us this story through the eyes of 17 year old Scout, a smart and beautiful girl, whose life is anything but easy. Her life is about surviving with an addicted mother and an abusive uncle.
We also see though the eyes of 17 year old Wyatt, a smart and handsome boy who has many advantages that Scout has not had and begins to realize that his life isn't as bad as he thought.
This was a terrific account of an older teen dealing with the repercussions of living with a drug-abusing parent. It's only a sample of the devastation of drug addiction, but smart and realistically written. Yes, Between the Raindrops is a YA romance. Yet, at its heart, it is more about the transformative healing of a girl who is working through tragic circumstances and the strength she gains from the support of those who care for her. Wow! Just wow! What a truly emotional journey for this young lady. 17 years old and she is ripped from her home and put in another until she turns 18. While this move brings both sorrow and joy for her, she finds an amazing best friend who gives her a family as well. The Campbell family opens their hearts and their homes to her to show her that there are people she can trust and that she can love someone. Wyatt is so amazing in how he has this instant connection to Scout. He becomes her protecto ...more
This was an emotional journey for 17 year old Scout. She is a smart young lady with a mom for a junkie and her father dead. Her mom gets arrested and she has to go live with her Uncle.
She loves writing in her journal of what she wants out of life.
Wyatt notices Scout from her first day. He befriends her and watches out for her. With Zoe and Wyatt by her side anything is possible.
I enjoyed reading this story it deals with abuse and drugs and what can happen. There is a lot of hope in this story.
In the book "Beneath the Raindrops" the author, Sydney Logan, takes us through an absolutely heartbreaking jouney with an abused teenager named Scout. This book has some triggers and while it may not be for everyone it is an amazing, tender journey. The author handles the issues this book brings up with a delicate hand.
The opening scenes of the book show Scout in her house trying to stay warm. Her drug addicted mother has yet again failed to pay the electric bill that would have k
This is Sydney Logan’s tenth novel, and I’ve read enough of her books over the years to know that her story will be a good one. Sydney is a master of sweet romance, an author that can captivate this middle-aged wife and mom with a love story set in high school between two teens. Sydney’s talent at immersing the reader right back into the highs and lows of adolescence is effortless.
Between the Raindrops is the story of seventeen-year-old Scout Ramsey. Scout should be enjoying her high school year
This is a beautiful young adult story that touches on so many tough subjects that teens and young adults face such abuse, drug use, sex and abstinence, etc. Scout is a young girl who has had lots of loss and hardships in her life. After losing her dad and her mom going to jail, ending up with her uncle can't be too bad, plus, being so close to being 18, the last thing she wants to do is rock boat even more and end up in a group home.
WOW!!!! Let me first say this book really left me raw. It hit home for me as well. Imagine being a girl at 17, your beautiful, BUT you have a really huge problem called Mom...What is that problem? I cant say. BUT lets say Scout Ramsey had it rough. So rough that she watches her mother being arrested in her own home. But things go from bad to worse. Scout has options not great ones. She moves to the town of Ceder Springs to live with her Dr uncle. My only spoiler alert is
Between The Raindrops is an emotional journey for a strong, fierce young 17 year old girl named Scout. I mean how does a young lady accept her mother trying to sell her for drugs? When her mother is sent to jail, Scout is sent to live with her uncle. And lets just say her situation doesn't really get much better under his care. But Scout is determined to hold out until she's 18.
Between the Raindrops was a great read. It was an emotional read with it's ups and down. Scout has had it tough. Her father passed away and her mom is a drug addict. I thought when her mom gets arrest and she goes to live with her uncle (who's a Dr.) everything was going to start to be great for her but it's not. Scout does meet two amazing twins, Wyatt and Zoie. Zoie and Scout hit it off right away and Scout could really use a friend so that was perfect. Wyatt on other hand for a brief moment c ...more
Between the Raindrops by Sydney Logan was a wonderful story that stayed with me long after I finished reading. I was captivated from the first page by the true-to-life characters and the well-constructed plot. It was beautifully written and easily engaged my emotions. The story covered some very serious topics, including addiction, depression, childhood neglect, and domestic abuse. While it was certainly angsty in places, I didn't find it too much to handle, as Ms. Logan writes with a deft and g ...more
What an amazing story, I don't think I've ever cried that hard while reading in a long time. Scout is 17, and she has had it rough. From her dad dying and her mom being a drug addict and all that follows both of those. She is a very strong amazing young woman. Wyatt takes his family for granted and thinks they aren't proud of him. These two together are amazing, the way they help each other, calm each other, and he just gives her someone she can finally trust and rely on.
Between the Raindrops is a beautifully captivating love story/coming of age take. Turning away from the typical YA structure, Sydney Logan manages to create a strong as hell female character with an amazing cast of characters.
Are there moments in this novel that are tough? Yes.
Are there moments in this that will make you swoon? Um, yes... Wyatt is quite literally swoonworthy at times. But it's more than that.
Scout has been dealt a horrible hand. Between her dad and her mother, neither around to help her through high school. Scout is sent to live with an uncle that takes her only because she is his brother's daughter. Scout's life there is only made better by a friend, her friend's brother Wyatt, and their parents. If not for their support, she probably would not have made it. Ms. Logan does an awesome job of writing about a possible real-life situation. She gives Scout strength and courage to do the ...more
Loved it. I don't think anyone could have told this story in the way Sydney Logan did. It is full of pain and heartbreak but most of all hope. Being someone who has family who has suffered from addiction but has successfully overcome it, this story really hit me and tugged at my heartstrings. Eve if you don't have any experience with addiction, you'll have a hard time keeping dry eyes through this one and an even harder time not believing in hope at the end of it.
Sydney Logan writes stories that draw you in from the first page. This book is no different in that regard. Scout has a difficult life and circumstances that make her dig deep and persevere. This book made me smile, laugh and cry. It’s a great story and I highly recommend you read it!
Could not put this down at all!
It definitely tugged the heart strings. Even though it’s a young adult romance it shows the struggles Scout went through and how she over came her continued adversities not only by being a strong young woman but by also building strong foundations in the relationships she’s built through Wyatt and the Campbell family.
Really happy I read this and I applaud you Sydney on writing such an amazing book.
With this book, Sydney Logan delivers a Young Adult novel with plenty of angst and heartbreak, but also friendship, hope, and young love.
Scout Ramsey has had nothing but bad luck, it seems. Her father died when she was a child, and her mother has since gone off the deep end. When her mother’s drug addiction pushes her to try and do one of the worst things possible, Scout is put into foster care and sent to live with her estranged uncle.
At her new school, she wants to lay low, despite copious rum
This is a hard to keep the tears at bay novel and I wouldn’t want to change anything about it. Between the Raindrops tells the story of Scout and how she came out of bad place to find love in the most unlikely of places. Scout has been taken away from her mother and put in the home of her dad’s brother. The protagonist of the story, Scout Ramsey, has had a really rough life since her father died and her mother descended into addiction to ease her pain. Ahhhhhh!!!! This book was simply EVERYTHING!!! Definitely one of my top reads of the year. This is a sad, but remarkable and beautiful story of not giving up, and finding peace and happiness and coming out on the other side after being dealt every crap hand in this world.
This is my first book by Sydney Logan. I wish I would have known about her earlier. This book was so good even though it has such a dark side to it. I immediately was hooked on the book from the first chapter. Each character was written with such description and detail that you could relate to them. It may also be more close to my heart after being on a domestic violence board of directors. I could relate to so much that was written.
This story is about Scout Ramsey who has a miserable life with
