Ashley Winter is a South African Christian Fiction writer living in Wales, United Kingdom. Ashley and her husband Grant, along with their three sons, immigrated to Wales in 2009 to help with a church plant in Swansea. They have since had one more son added to the chaos, and they spend their days chauffeuring the kids and kicking them off their screens and other electronic devices. They have not been brave enough to add any pets to their collection of living things, as they already have so many to keep alive. Ashley finds her escape from the overwhelming masculinity in her home by disappearing into her wonderful world of fiction.
I didn't think it could any better than "Rachel's Blessing" and then I read "Deborah's Choice". It was great to still have the characters from "Rachel's Blessing" appear in "Deborah's Choice" so I did not have to say goodbye to them. "Deborah's Choice" is so beautifully and cleverly written. It is witty but has very intense moments. I really enjoyed it! Can't wait to read "Tanya's Hope"!!
After really enjoying the first book in the series I had high expectations for this book and it didn't disappoint. In fact, I loved it even more than the first one. Once again, Ashley has written very well-rounded, believable characters. I'm the first to admit that I don't usually enjoy stories that involve love triangles, but this one was done so well. There were no "bad" guys, and although I was rooting for Johan (because he was funny, and just the perfect match for feisty Deb), I also adored sweet Gavin. It is a heartwarming and humorous story of a woman who is caught in the middle and a persistent hero who refuses to give up until he has won her heart.
Oh my goodness! This book i couldn't put down once I started reading. I felt the intrigues with the characters. I love that the storyline includes characters from book one. The Christian undertone makes my heart soar
Another dramatic, emotionally intense book. The characters are gripping, and it was hard to put down. After reading two of this series, one after the other, I started getting tired of the South African slang every other sentence, so I need to space out reading the rest of the series. An enjoyable way to learn about South Africa.
Deborah's Choice is the second book in the Love in South Africa series. It follows the story of UK born, Deborah and Johan, a South African tour guide who were first introduced in book 1 of this series. Faced with their own challenges while struggling to align their head with what's on their heart, and add in a dash of SA humour and culture, this story is bound to keep you hooked. Being a South African myself, I could completely relate with the tone, the setting, the language, the whole culture. It surely makes for an interesting and captivating read. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.
“This is not the UK, see? Our drivers are slightly less… how shall we say… law-abiding than what you're used to. Our rules of the road are more like suggestions.”
As soon as I started this story I ran into lustful situations. Just tired of those kinds of stories where the Christians in the story are checking out each others bodies! That ought not to be!
