With the civil war over, the president assassinated, and the South in reconstruction, Tyrell Thompsett knew the country would be crying for beef. His long-held dream was to have his own ranch and to follow in the footsteps of his father that started the first ranch in the Medicine Bow range of Wyoming territory. Now, with his new wife, a member of the Pueblo Indians of New Mexico, and his friend, Grey Wolf and his wife of the Mouache Ute, he set out to make that dream a reality. But it seemed like the forces of nature had conspired together against them, and to add in the Weeminuche Ute, Jicarilla Apache, and some renegade Comanche, the obstacles before them seemed insurmountable.
But after locating the ranch on the upper reaches of the Rio Grande in the San Juan mountains, the real challenges had to be faced. With a herd waiting in New Mexico territory, they set out to bring the herd back to Colorado territory. But, when a newly formed band of outlaw Confederate rebels, traders known as Comancheros, and renegade Comanche from the bands of the Ditsahkanah and Penateka Comanche, the name Comanchero referred to a heartless and merciless band of murderers and thieves. And it was to be a battle between the vaqueros and cowboys against the Comancheros that would leave a trail of blood and bodies and determine the fate of the Rio Grande ranch and the future of Tyrell Thompsett in the San Juan mountains.

This series of wonderful stories of our true old western adventures is a never ceasing realty of what I have learned to love and look forward to. The settlers in this magnificent series is unsurpassed in quality and everything is definitely worthy of rereading time and again. I am definitely hooked on the wonderful selection of the different adventures and the way the author, Mr. B. N. Rundell has so eloquently written his apparent interpretation of our true old western folklore. Everything is apparently well researched and his uncanny renditions of revealing each and every detailed episode in the first person, which was detailed information throughout the entire book.
Five stars and more is all I can say about this wonderfully heartwarming masterpiece, which I have grown to accept and appreciate with us outstanding series of heartwarming adventures. I have been hooked on these stories from day one, although I began reading them out of order.
Mr. Rundell apparently did his research before penning the first word of any of this outstanding series, and as I have previously stated: They are all a masterpiece beyond comparison
The storylines and characters were perfectly selected and even those places in minor rolls were effectively initiated by the author as they pulled their weight with dignity and pride. I certainly recommend this series to all readers loving great westerns and romantic adventures. I will guarantee you will have a hard time setting the books aside , even to take you place at the table.
Please, do not miss these outstanding episodes of true old western adventures, as they will definitely satisfy your every whim him from beginning to end!😂
The Thompsett saga continues with this story of Tyrell and Gray Wolf seeing the beginning of their dream come true. But not without a fight. Again, Rundell gives us excitement mixed with both laughter and sorrow woven together as only a master storyteller can.
Thank you Mr. Rundell for a truly awesome read. I love these Buckskin Chronicle books. I look forward to number 11. When you read these books it is like you are there. The author brings the story to life for you. You feel like you know the people in the stories. He does a truly amazing job with these books.
This series was well researched. I enjoyed the descriptions of the landscapes , and learning about the plants they ate and used for medicine. The vivid detail of clothing , the love for their families and animals all brought these books to life. These books could make a great tv series! Need more, the saga should continue!
I just completed this buckskin series and overall not a bad western read. Some parts throughout the series were better than others and there was a few times I almost put the book down. I have always loved my old western books but overall I did feel the author in this series was pushing religion a little too much. Not against it but it should be labeled accordingly.
Buckskin Chronicles was a extremely delightful set of books. Magnificent descriptions of scenery, making this reader feel she was there. Historical significance of the development of the country. Highly recommend for any reader
Just when you think there can't be a better book he writes one. I really like what was said about mules their not stubborn like most folks think just smart and cautious
The final book in the Buck skin Chronicles finds Ty building his ranch, taking delivery of his herd of cattle, fighting rustlers, being shot, and finally fulfilling his cattle ranch dream.
Outstanding series, told from a Christian perspective yet staying true to the realities of the Pioneer experiences of our forefathers. Sad that there are no further books in this story.
Book 10 brings an end to the buckskin chronicles series. Ty and Wolf along with their wives head to their Valley to start their ranch. Along the way trouble is waiting. All and all a good series.
It was so wonderful to read this series, partly because I know some of the areas in it but more so because it was such great writing! You can feel like you are right beside them as they travel through the pages!
