"Kasey's Poodle Skirt" is about Kasey, who learns about the 1950's and creates her own poodle skirt to wear to a school event. As Kasey is creating her skirt she learns about the importance of creativity and how to embrace her individuality. Themes in this book are imagination and confidence. I would read this book to second graders and would add it to my library because it teaches readers about a different time period.
