Trippin' Off A Crazy Hood Love

Rate this book
In this book, there are no crazy baby mamas doing all kinds of things to keep their baby fathers or ex-girlfriends plotting not to lose their man. There are no women who would do anything to have a balling boss or street king. And there are no dope boys! This is a story about love and how unpredictable it really can be.

Meet Immanuel ‘Manny’ West, a pretty boy, ladies’ man, who prides himself on bagging the baddest women Harlem has to offer. He is a player and makes no apologies for it. His reputation as the man who loves too many bitches to settle down doesn’t stop women from throwing themselves at him.

He knows he has a rep to keep and would rather die than be seen with a chick who wasn’t up to his standards… that was until he crossed paths with Rai-Elle.

Rai-Elle isn’t your typical hood beauty that catches all the niggas’ eyes, the one who the bad boy sees and just has to have no matter what. No, Rai-Elle or just Rai, as she liked to be called, spent most of her life being invisible. And when people did see her, they saw a dude from her tomboyish looks and swag.

What started out as a defense mechanism ends up being the same thing that Manny likes about her, even though he doesn’t want to.
Will he knock down that wall she so desperately hangs on to or will he allow his friends, his rep and the pressures of life to walk away from the one woman who may not look like she fits him but is everything he ever needed nonetheless?

Then there is Gideon West, Manny’s younger brother, who is following in his brother’s footsteps of having the baddest females on his arm.
One day he comes across Lyriq, a chick who could never get the time of day from him just from how she looked and dressed.

A friend dares Gideon to talk to her, and not being one to back down, he accepts the dare. But unintentionally, he ends up falling for Lyriq in a way he never saw coming.

But what happens when Lyriq discovers the truth just as Gideon finds himself unable to live without this girl?

Find out what happens when these two brothers encounter women they never thought they would even look twice at and try to deal with the way they are trippin’ off a crazy hood love.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

This book was so refreshing!! I enjoyed both Lyriq and Rai-Ella as the not typical girls that hood boys fall for. Even though Lyriq switched her style up, she still stayed true to herself. Manny realized that he had a precious jewel in Rai and was determined not to lose her no matter what. Now G was a different story but he learned what his actions did and didn't like the repercussions!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love reading anything from Kelly Marie. I was definitely not disappointed with this book. I loved Rai and Lyric friendship, I’m also happy that this book wasn’t like the typical book that I’ve read. Rai and Lyric were definitely characters and I was happy about that. I’m glad that they both got their happy ending. Manny was not playing any games about Rai and that made me smile. It was also refreshing to see that Lyric didn’t jump back into things with G but I’m happy they got their 💩 together.

Dope book

This book was different from the normal but I loved it. Even though Manny and G were retired from the street life they still had that swag. Rai and Lyriq weren't supermodel fine they still got their men. Awesome job Kelly Marie you showed that you don't have to write about drug dealers to have a good book.

Man Manny and Gideon came and changed up Lyric and Rai life for the better. Manny loved his Rai and didnt czre who knew or had something to say about it. Bones completely shocked me. Man Lyric was not playing with G at all. I so loved this book. Another banger from Kelly Marie.

I did not see any of this coming!!!

This is a New To Me Author and I must say, I'm glad she is on my radar. I loved this story. The characters were well developed. The writing was amazing. The plot was unpredictable (in most areas) the main characters, although flawed, were likeable. Manny really mae be one of if not my favorite bookbaes. He knew what he wanted and had no shame or desire to cater to the whims of others. And that speaks of his manhood and integrity. Even in his moment of weakness, he still held strong. I love him for that.
Absolutely amazing story.

Awww!!!

This Read was so good and cute. There’s nothing like a MAN loving you for you and not giving a fuck what others have to say!! This reminds me of the quote “Never judge a book by its cover” simply because of how Rai-Elle dressed on the outside didn’t mean she wasn’t worth the love and happiness manny gave her/ she was beautiful on the inside. Playing games with someone’s heart is definitely a lesson I’m glad Lyriq didn’t give in so easily to G after he apologized for his Childish mistakes. I’m happy for both couples. This is my first read by this author and I’m excited to read more ✨💕

Omg loved it!

Yasss kelly! Def enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end. To see the growth from the beginning to end of rai and lyric was dope. You most def have to learn to love the skin that you are in. I was so glad Manny and G came into they lived and shook things up even though it was Ricky at first. They helped to give them a little boost in they confidence. I still can't believe bones and I really thought he was cool. He should have been upfront about how he felt instead of being a hater. This book was def worth the read.

I really loved this one!! A very different feel but loved it from beginning to end!!

First of all, G is wrong for how he did Lyric. She didn't deserve that. I loved Rai-Elle and Manny together. I could connect with her and Lyric on the self-esteem issues. Manny love Rai-Elle as she truly was and that made me love him and made him bae in my eyes. Now it took G a bit longer to realize what he had in Lyric but he turned out to be a good dude too. I wish we would have learned a bit more about Rai-Elle's sister Toni though.

Loved it!

Once again you didn't disappoint! This was not your normal hood story and that's what I loved about it! These two different then normal young ladies came into these to man whore lives and made them grow up! They did that by being themselves and not dressing and acting like everyone else! I can't wait to see what's next from you!

I loved this book im so glad that Ra didnt change for Manny and he loved her just the way she was. Bones made me so mad. As for G i didnt like that he placed a bet on Lyric liked that. Im glad she found out and left him he needed to learn his lesson about the way he treated women. Amber got exactly what she deserved. But im glad that G got it together.

Awwww😍😍😍😍

This was great standalone and different. It is nice to read something that all of the guys are not boss king pins or connects. I love how the girls were regular good girls, it kind of gives me hope that someone is out there for me. But other than that it was a good read and I can't to see what you have for us next.

All because of a bet !!!!!

Sometimes what’s good for you doesn’t always look good to you. Now G approached Lyriq all because of a bet and look how it turned out. Manny as the big brother he wasn’t leading by example but him getting to know Rai changes his whole outlook. Great story with a lesson...

Excellent read.. Manny loved Rai for herself.. He didn't care how she dressed as long as she was comfortable with herself. I can't believe his so call bestfriend Bones. I'm glad Lyric gave G another chance. He never expected to fall in love. Both couples had a happy ending.. loved it

👍

I really enjoyed this book. It was refreshing that Rai & Lyriq were not the bad chicks that all the men wanted, but got G & Manny that all the chicks wanted. I loved that Manny never tried to change Rai or was embarrassed by her, he only defended her and tried to reassure her that he saw her for who she really was.

2 thumbs up

I really liked this story. It was realistic and different from most of the stuff out here. Both Lyric and Rai were relatable characters and the storyline pulled me in almost immediately. I didn't want it to end!

👏👏👏

This was a good read. I liked it a lot. I'm glad everything worked out for both couples. Even though G did that bet Lyric was all the way wrong for keeping his baby a secret from him in the beginning.

Oh My God!

A book full of real one, Rai-Elle, Lyric G and Manny, Ioved them all. The men were strong and smart, once they realized what they had nobody could mame them change their minds about the girls. This was
a well written standalone and I hope Kelly Marie writes more.

Refreshing

It was so refreshing to read a book that wasn't about drug dealing. I did not want to put this book down. I'm sad it ended. The writing was great and it held my attention through out. I loved the characters and I was happy that Lyriq gave G another chance.
