About the author

Born in 70's of the last century, Suddhasatya Ghosh grew up initially in mufussil area. Later he came to Kolkata along with his family. He was into theatre and film from his very student life. Paralelly he ventured into nurturing his literary skills. Higher Education was in Drama and Mass communication. Journalism career started in Doordarshan. Later he had worked in Etv and Akash Bangla. Along with literary art, he is into theatre and film. He is also into part-time teaching in various institutions on theatre, film, photography. He has also been a theatre director, actor in numerous places.

He is a regular literary contributor to little magazines, web-magazines along with daily and periodical mainstream magazines. He has numerous novel, drama, essay, story, poem in his contribution. his published works are Mahabharata (seven parts published yet), Bhishon Gopone Benche Achi (compilation of poems), Gangahridi (first par), Rangamancha, Ghrinar Sheemante, Pirate Pirate (novel)

চতুর্থ খন্ডে দ্রৌপদীর স্বয়ংবর সংক্রান্ত বিষয় প্রাধান্য পেয়েছে। রাজপরিবারের এই ধরনের উদ্যোগের পেছনে গভীর রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্য রয়েছে সেই বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা পেলাম।
পান্ডবদের প্রতি দূর্যোধনের ক্ষোভের বিভিন্ন কারনগুলি সুষ্পষ্টভাবে এই খন্ডে উঠে এসেছে। তাতে অবশ্য দূর্যোধনের প্রতি সহানুভূতি দেখানো হয়নি এখনও পর্যন্ত। ধীরে ধীরে সমস্ত চরিত্রগুলির ভেতরের ধূসর দিকগুলি উঠে আসছে।

বৈদিক রীতিনীতি নিয়ে ঋষিদের মধ্যে বেশ কিছু আলোচনা এই খন্ডে রয়েছে। হ্যাঁ এই আলোচনায় চার্বাক ও বাসুদেব সম্প্রদায়ের প্রতিনিধিদের মধ্যে সমাজ ,ধর্ম ও দর্শন নিয়ে তর্ক বিতর্ক এখানে উঠে এসেছে সেটা আমার ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে ভালো লেগেছে। আমি ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস করি কিন্তু চার্বাক দর্শন সম্পর্কে জানতে ও বুঝতে আমার ব্যক্তিগত কোন রক্ষনশীলতা নে‌ই।
স্বয়ংবরের প্রস্তুতি, সেই কারনে নগর কিভাবে সেজে ওঠে, বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের রাজা ও ব্রাক্ষ্মনদের আগমন, সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান, যজ্ঞ সর্বোপরি এই বিশাল কর্মকাণ্ড সুন্দর ভাবে উপস্থাপন করেছেন লেখক।

চতুর্থ খণ্ডটি পড়ে মনে হলো লেখক বিষয়গুলিকে কিছুটা বেশি দীর্ঘায়িত করেছেন। জানি, মহাভারতের গল্পের ব্যাপ্তি বিশাল; তবুও প্রথম দুই/তিন খণ্ডের তুলনায় এই খণ্ডটি যেন অনেকটাই ধীর গতিতে লেখা। আশা রাখছি, পরবর্তী খণ্ডে লেখক আবার অখণ্ড মনোযোগ দিয়ে পড়িয়ে নিতে পারবেন।
