This collection of papers is drawn from Materials Week '93 held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, October 17-21, 1993. It covers a broad spectrum of areas that represent the diverse nature of the field of fatigue and fracture of ordered intermetallic materials. The 32 papers are divided into the following topics - composite materials, high-temperature intermetallics, titanium aluminides I and titanium aluminides II. Coverage includes - fracture and fatigue considerations in the development of ductile-phase reinforced intermetallic matrix composites, tensile and impact properties of iron-aluminum alloys, the effects of alloying and microstructure on the fracture of intermetallic compounds based on TiA1 and effect of microstructure on failure of titanium aluminide during testing at ambient and elevated temperatures.
