Knicker and Other Bitesize Flashes

Rate this book
This book holds a collection of short stories, verses and flashes of fiction ideal to read on your commute, your lunch break or whilst waiting for that pot to boil.
Doll is contemplating the ultimate way to end her depression.
Ebenezer is indulging his love of garden birds in his own unique way.
Milly is looking forward to her first stage appearance, unaware it will be her last.
Learn just a little about these and other characters inspired by the people you could meet at your local coffee shop. They might be the person who sits next to you in your local library or maybe your quiet next-door neighbour.
These flashes of fiction are packed with imagination and often darkness, although some pieces will inspire and surprise you too.
They may just make you wonder if you should sit quite so close to that person next to you.

With Knicker's blurb about coffee shops and strangers, I was expecting a lighthearted read and was delightfully taken aback when the first story started so dark.

Each of these little stories has a different and provocative voice - as if they are all real people I might encounter but never know at my coffee shop.

All that it needed was a circle-back, and there it was.

I recommend this book for quick reads while waiting around, for writers looking to create unique characters in few sentences, and for those who need to pull out of their own head and into another's every once in awhile.
