About the author

Janice Cook Knight is a writer and cooking teacher in Santa Barbara. Her resume includes several years as head chef of the Follow Your Heart Restaurant in Canoga Park, California, and she is the author of the Follow Your Heart cookbooks.

In her food career Janice has worked as both a personal chef and a food coach, providing cooking lessons to individuals and families. Janice was a recipe tester for Bon Appétit Magazine, and has taught cooking and cookbook writing at various venues in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, including Santa Barbara City College’s Center for Lifelong Learning. She is a contributing writer for Edible Santa Barbara, and her article Hurray for the Orange, Red and Gold: The Season for Persimmons won first prize in Les Dames d’Escoffier’s MFK Fisher writing contest in 2015. She is currently writing a memoir about home, garden, family, and food.

The soups are my favorites. Store and restaurant offer so many delicious treats and they are easily replicated at home. I love it.
