Rate this book
About 75 assorted poems about life, love, loss, inspiration, and encouragement.Three very short stories. A lot of these come from poems written in private conversations on twitter DM, Whatsapp, and Facebook Messenger.

These poems provide a sort of roadmap for exploring the various relationships elements we build friendships with. As of 2023, I am friends with most of the people these poems were written for. In many cases our friendships have continued to grow and flourish.

This is truly a unique little book.

I always enjoy getting a glimpse into people's lives, even through the smallest of windows, and that is what this felt like. The poems were indeed personal, most of them speaking to or about specific people, and each left me wondering what the Mahan's relationship with these people are. They sound truly special and remarkable to have such lovely words written about them. I also enjoyed that Mahan documented where some of the poems came from- Twitter DMs, etc. It gave me a feeling of sitting beside him and being told stories about all these wonderful people who had become so special to him. It's very sweet, and very touching. My interest is definitely piqued and I can't wait to delve into even more Mahan's work.

The Best Book To Read for a Lifetime

Hi, So this book of poems is amazing. each one is dedicated to someone, or it has a date stamped from 2016-2017.
I'd like to to tell you 2016 for me was a rough year. So reading poems by a friend who i didnt know yet at the time the book was written and published is really amazing. I can tell you, you will possibly cry a lot. I reqd thus book over time, as I love each poem in it.
This book makes you think about what you were doing that year and it also keeps gifting you pieces of it, even if you aren't in it, it definitely makes you feel like you're there.

I can't wait to read more of Chris's work!

What an extraordinary book by an extraordinary poet. I'm obsessed, and will continue to read Mahan's poetry moving forward. Every single part of this book is beautiful and filled with love, compassion, and honesty. Mahan's grasp of language is also amazing. If you don't read this collection, you're missing out.
