Crooked Stick

Rate this book
Why have I named the book “Crooked Stick”? I often see myself to have too much imperfection and as not being fit for God’s use. But God uses me in spite of my imperfections. In God’s hand, He can draw straight lines with a crooked stick.

In many situations, God’s grace is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect in our weaknesses. Like Paul said, “When I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Cor. 12:10b) Our God is a God of Opposites. Remember when you pray, God works. When we rest in Him in all our weaknesses, God helps us in finishing the work that He started in us (Matthew 11:28; 2 Cor. 12:9b). Last will be the first. Give, it will be given unto you. God’s words are always counter-intuitive.

It is good for you to understand the purpose of this book. It is not meant for scholars of God’s Word. It is just a collection of stories, some of which may be revelation from God and which will hopefully inspire you to walk closely with Him. I hope these stories will be of value to you. In the following chapters, you may find that some of the stories are disjointed. It is because God reveals different things to me as time passes. Every story has a good teaching point. The teaching point is missed when we dismiss the significance of an event. One thing that is consistent is that every story points back to God. We ask God to teach us to learn from each small event.
