The second book REALLY gets the ball rolling, introducing us to the Oath guard and building on the blossoming and blistering romance between Triistan and Drey and filling in the fascinating details of the Khaliil's society. I really got a thrill out of this book and felt transported to the world of Ruine as the authors described the history and sorrow of the backstory to the gods. Now I am afraid I must wait for the third book to see what will happen next.
I am still forced to ask yet again - WHY are these guys not on a best sellers list somewhere ?

Beautiful, evocative and nicely descriptive world building. We hear more of the adventure that Triistan and some of the crew went through on the islands of Aarden before they were shipwrecked on their way home. Allies and Enemies alike as well as their surroundings are wonderfully depicted and we learn quite a bit of the history of the young and old Gods. We also learn the origin of the Templars, the order for whom our other MC, Casselle is part of and it certainly left one wondering how things had changed so much over the years (apathy over time is my best bet)
I correctly guessed something of the ruthless betrayal at the end but certainly not how it went down & what a cliffhanger for the next book (which I will be definitely picking up when it's published)

This book capitalizes on all of the awesome potentials that the first book sets up, to no fault. You won't be reading this book, you'll be watching it in your mind because every word, sentence, paragraph, and page paints such a vivid image that it's impossible to not visualize.

If fate had a visible course, I would expect to see this as a best seller in the not-so-far future...

If I had one word to describe this book, it would be "epic". If I had two, it would be "epically epic".

If you like books with rich, vivid worldbuilding, great characters, and a world-shaking story, you should be reading this series.
