Is all transference? Is transference all?
Leites argues that the field of psychoanalysis has implicitly, and occasionally explicitly (like Strachey) insinuated that all insight gained from interpretations must be based on transference.

Leites says no to both questions, and explains why that is the case, and why it is important.
