Schiffer books are always good, and when I saw this on sale at our local historical society I snagged it.

Written for young adults, it feels like, and pretty slim. But good information, coverage of everything from Teddy Roosevelt's flight to the VC-25s, plus a bit about Marine helos and assorted smaller planes the USAF has used. Lots of photos.
