Great Inspiration for Costume Projects! I would recommend for sewers or costumers that want to easily add interesting light patterns, like rainbow lights, to make your creations shine.
The two projects I made went together easily and the instructions were really well described and easy to follow. I made the starlight skirt and downloaded the 3D printed holders from thingiverse and made the sewn circuit cuff out of felt. I also downloaded the laser cutter pattern for the scarf but haven't made it yet. The only issue is that there isn't a direct link to the downloads from the book but they are all online at makeitwearitbook(dot)com (replace the dot) and it is a bit hard to find on the publishers website if you google for the title and mhprofessional, look under the Downloads and Resources tab. I did not download the program for the skirt and used a pre-programmed RGB controller instead, it seems to work just fine and lights up in rainbow like the example.
I liked that there were a variety of different types of projects and that they use a lot of new tools. I'll probably try the sewing projects next, since the construction seems pretty simple and I'm excited to use the 3D printer to try to print on fabric. If you have a 3D printer it is a good way to use it for more than just printing keychains or toys.
Overall, a wonderful addition to my sewing and crafting library. I think I'll use the info from the projects, especially the sewable microcontroller for other costumes. I like that the book uses new tools and has clear, well-thought out projects. I would recommend for folks who already make clothes or costumes and want to take it to the next level.
Alright for a baseline of learning; but, like most craft books, is a little too prescriptivist and I didn't really like many of the designs given. But, technically, a good book.

I might have not been the right target audience. I got a bit deceived by the title. In this book, the reader learns the very basics of electronics and there is a big focus on making your own clothes or other wearables. On the positive side, the book is easy to read and has plenty of helpful illustrations. Because of that, do not expect a large amount of content.
