Luis Osorio returns home to Segovia, Spain for his mother's sixtieth birthday. He hasn't been home in five years (he now lives in California). While riding his motorbike through the streets he notices a pretty girl (Cristina Shephard). He follows her into a nightclub. Before the night is over they are lovers.

description
Segovia

They meet again when Luis's parents hire Cristina as a photographer. (Luis comes from a famous banking family, Bank Osorio, who have been in the banking business for many years.) Luis doesn't trust paparazzi/photographers due to something that happened in his past with the paparazzi/a journalist. So now that he knows who Cristina is he wants her gone.

Cristina is very happy to have this job. It will finally give her the recognition she wants, and she will finally be someone. (Her father left her and her mother when Cristina was thirteen and she has felt rejected and unwanted from this ever since). Cristina eventually ends up at the Osorio family home located on an island (Fortaleza de Moya) and gets settled in. But Luis still doesn't want her there, though he finds himself attracted to Cristina. As time goes by Luis realizes Cristina is a genuine, caring person, and he begins to see her for who she truly is.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked both the hero and the heroine. They had some things in common...they both had pain in their pasts. Cristina, with her father. And Luis, who has been feeling guilty for five years, since the death of his beloved brother Bas, who died in a car accident which Luis blames himself for. (Five years ago Luis met a girl who was interested in him at a party and slept with her. Later he found out she was paparazzi and she wanted to get to his brother through him, which eventually led to Bas's death.)

A lovely read by Louise Fuller. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Christina Shephard is about to fulfill her dream. To be recognized. To be someone. Moving past the paparazzi stage, she was finally going to be a photographer for a magazine. And the photos of the Osorio banking family would get her that much closer. But then Lucho comes in to her life. Stirring up emotions she really was not ready to face.

Luis Osario is back in the family home. Unable to move past his part in his brother's death, Luis would not have made the journey, but family duty called. A few short days and he could escape. But then Christina crashed in to his life. Torn between wanting to destroy her for lies he believes she is living, to wanting to bring her further in to his life. Christina stirs up emotions he is not willing to face. The guilt of his brother's death most heavy on his shoulders.

For the most part excellent. Fast paced and emotional. A nice read.

Could never quite take to the heroine - and the way she rejected him after seeing her father seemed ridiculously over the top and downright stupid - not to mention, cruel.
But, overall - a good read.

Luis can’t believe his luck the night he hits town to spend time with his parents until he discovers the woman he spent an incredible night with is the same woman that has come to take his family’s photographs. Believing she has an ulterior motive for coming into his life, he isn’t afraid to accuse her. However, when he realizes his mistake, will he be able to make things right between them or will Luis lose his chance at happy ever after with the woman that’s captured his attention more than any other woman ever has? Amazing chemistry exists between the hero and heroine but so do a number of lies. I liked the hero from the first page but took a little longer to warm up to the heroine. Beautiful setting at an island fortress. They both are struggling to live in the present with the past always haunting them. A very romantic storyline. I don't know if it was just my copy, but I counted 10 typos.

The hero Luis is skeptical of everyone. He spends a night with the heroine and she shows up at his parent's as the new photographer. He doesn't trust her and goes out of his way to show her that. I liked the book. Enjoy your read.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Having previously read other books by this author and not enjoying them, I had some reservations. But... it was a really great read.

È il primo Harmony che ho letto. Romanzo carino, non entusmante. Ideale per passare il tempo in relax non pretendendo chissà quale emozione.

I have no shame. Two stars because it did satisfy my guilty pleasure but gosh these kinds of books are so cringe and poorly written.
