I grew up in the south west of England and studied Mathematics at the University of Bath, writing fantasy and science fiction in my spare time. After graduating with 1st class honours (in maths, not fantasy writing!), I worked with computers for several years before redundancy convinced me that working with horses might be healthier.

I spent the next decade working in various horse racing yards, and kept on writing. "Song Quest" was eventually published in 1999 and went on to win the Branford Boase Award for best debut children's novel by a UK author.

I got this book gifted by my dad when I was a little girl. The topic of Pegasus came up with the in-laws and I got such a throwback. A little digging and I found the book for my horse loving little one.

Going through the pages was pure nostalgia. They are as beautiful as I remembered. The stories just as magical. Having a little one to share it with made the experience more wonderful!

Magical Horses: A Spellbinding Ride Through Classic Tales of Wonder introduces readers to the magical world of unicorns. Using interactive spreads, pop-up pages and sparkles, Roberts' brings enchanting stories and fairytales to life.

I appreciate the intent of this book, however, some of the engaging pieces were overkill. Recognizing that I am not the target audience for this book, I found it difficult to concentrate on the actual stories with so much colours and things to touch and pull. I also didn't find that the stories featured and illustrative styles meshed together well.
