"The Tina Turner Story" with main characters Ike and his life for the first half of the book starting from page one. The author seems upset a Black woman from small town, USA overcomes many hurdles to become the sensation that she is. The author is mad Tina succeeded despite and inspire of Ike and the Review, that she worked with British artists and kept on insisting she "would come home, it's inevitable". He kept on being surprised that Tina topped "pop charts, black charts" and her music had success with Black audience after "she had abandoned them" after the Review era. The author keeps giving her backhanded compliments, making her Wikipedia page a lot more interesting and fact stating than this long tabloid like story about a legend. He is especially mad critics praised Tina for her talent even though HE didn't think she was anything special. Sad selection of photos that spread a paragraph across 6 pages and do not always correspondent with the time line.
