The Imperial Civil War is picking up the pace! After months of stalemate while Emperor Travis gathered his forces, preparing to crush Empress Merida's Loyalists, the entry of the Black Star Fleet into the fray, with their unique weapons, has tipped the balance of the war against the Usurper and his AI Master. Now, the Loyalists are pressing their advantage, and Commodore Mollen is there with them, for fun and profit, as he and his Black Star Fleet help keep the Usurper's forces off balance.
Of course, the Black Star Fleet is a dagger in a gunfight, especially considered next to the superdreadnoughts and other heavy warships the two navies are fielding. But a dagger in the dark, striking an unsuspecting flank, can sometimes be far more devastating than an artillery barrage. But can Commodore Mollen and the Black Star Fleet push back the Usurper's forces, all the way to Sol?

I'm a rookie author, looking to write stories that I enjoy writing. Not gonna get awards, but honestly, I'm happy with each and every person that reads my work.
Stuart is a sci-fi and anime geek, who dabbles in tabletop and video gaming. He enjoys cosplaying and has gone to DragonCon annually since 2009. Frozen Soul is his first book.
It is a sad, sad day when you finally break down and realize that you will never have the life you wanted, never do the things you wished to do, and never see the things you wanted to see. All because of a stupid lack of lightsabers.
I was a 26 y/o college student at Armstrong Atlantic State University, as a theater major. Went to school for a while before, dropped out, tried to go back, dropped out.. Not much to say other than the fact that I'm a laid back guy, and the only drama I like is the kind that's on the stage.
If I act like an idiot, or do anything to offend you, chances are it is not intentional, and I'm being oblivious. In that case, hit me upside the head, and tell me, because I don't catch subtle hints.
Character focus and length issues, but still an enjoyable read.
So, a couple of pretty major complaints now, even though I am still enjoying the series.
Firstly, this book focused very little on the main character. In longer, non-serial format novels, this is perfectly fine. What this amounts to in serialized form is a short (little more than an hour) read that is basically nothing but set-up for the next book.
Second, the book appears to be a lot longer than it is. The author has included item tables for every item in the series, as well as character descriptions for every character in the series in the book. This is largely irrelevant info, practically none of the items, and not even many of the characters described were relevant to this particular book. The actual reading content (i.e. not tables and descriptions) ended somewhere around 60% of the way through. That is unacceptable. There is no reason to include that content in a book where none of it has any bearing. You could easily link to a webpage for full lists. You could also simply include the stuff relevant to this particular book. As it stands it is unnecessary fluff that pads the book making it appear significantly larger than it is.
