Many people have found The People's Bible to be the most reliable Bible commentary series published. It's the laypeople's Bible down to earth, clearly written, easy to read and understand, filled with practical and contemporary applications. Each volume includes that book's complete text from the NIV Bible. The Christ-centered commentaries following the Scripture sections contain explanations of the text, historical background, maps, illustrations, and archaeological information. The People's Bible commentaries are great for personal or group study.

In the second portion of his prophecy, Isaiah promises that God will deliver his people and all the world through the great Servant of the Lord, whom we all know as Jesus Christ. God promised that this great Servant would redeem all the world by his suffering. The prophecy of Isaiah concludes with God's promises of future glory for all who believe.

This book by the prophet Isaiah lays a good foundation for the law and gospel. The second book of two books reviewing Isaiah points the reader to Christ and his saving work. God, the Creator, has done all the work. Jews and Gentiles are redeemed through his work.

Reading Isaiah a second time reinforced what I learned before. It expanded my understanding with the reminder that no matter how far faithful stray from God, he is there patiently waiting for repentance and recognition that His love is so great that he wants all in heaven. It is interesting to note that the number of books in the second part of Isaiah is the same number as the New Testament. (2nd Reading)

Isaiah writes prophesy about how God will save us ALL from sin and death. Isaiah continually points us to God's desire. God sends the representative He has chosen to bring the Good News to the nations. Here, nations refers to all people!
