An interesting book and an enjoyable read, despite having almost no action in it at all. It's basically a fictionalized biography of Kate Elder, Big Nose Kate, who was Doc Holliday's paramour for a long while. This book covers the time Kate spent with Holiday and is told from her perspective. If I'd known what it was before I read it, I might not have picked it up, but I did like it quite a bit. Hogan did a good job with the character. The writing flows smoothly. It gives a different perspective on the old west than one typically expects from westerns.
Kate "Big Nose" Elder follows Doc Holliday from Texas to Kansas to Colorado to Nevada, and they end up in Arizona where they quarrel, make up, break up, reconcile. Not played for laughs but ridiculous. What's the point?
One of the stupidest books I’ve ever read. Misleading blurb, pathetic, repetitive plot and zero character depth. Ridiculous portrayal of a “strong” woman. Overall bad.
