Vacationing on the coast with my sister was supposed to be a relaxing escape from the pressures of my job at the bank back home. Little did I know an evening walk along the pier with my camera was going to turn my peaceful plans upside down!
When spotting a crime through my viewfinder turns me into a target, suddenly I’m the one in danger of becoming a victim. But there’s one thing the criminals don’t know about me. I’m Piper Lane: amateur detective – and I don’t give up!
Blythe Baker is a thirty-something bottle redhead from the South Central part of the country. When she’s not slinging words and creating new worlds and characters, she’s acting as chauffeur to her children and head groomer to her household of beloved pets.
Blythe enjoys long walks with her dog on sweaty days, grubbing in her flower garden, cooking, and ruthlessly de-cluttering her overcrowded home. She also likes binge-watching mystery shows on TV and burying herself in books about murder.
Adorable mystery/crime story of two sisters on vacation. Unfortunately it doesn’t stay peaceful as vacations are meant to be. They find a body and the fun begins. Loved it, first time story by this author. Definitely not the last.
Once again Blythe Baker brings a mini crime thriller to us. Piper Lane is a true crime fighter. She is on vacation when she spots a crime happening just off shore. When she begins poking around and asking questions she gets caught. But her big sister comes to her rescue when their phone call gets cut short. Page calls the police who come to Piper’s aid. Way to go Piper. Great story and great characters. Love Ms Baker’s books!!
Well, this little story surprised me. It started of with Piper just strolling on the pier, getting some pictures of the people wandering around looking and eating treats. Pictures of people, buildings, small boats and fishing boats. Then she saw something that made her think! There was a large turtle caught in the nets of a fishing boat! Surely they will rescue it from the net and put it back into the water!?!
On what was meant to be a relaxing vacation with her hypochondriac sister, Piper finds trouble through the lens of her old-school camera. When an idiot on a Vespa tries to run her and her bike off the road, she decides to see just what's going on. Even though Page says tho leave it alone.
A short read, a crime quickly untangled; I really enjoyed meeting Piper. I'll be looking for more about her!
Fun, Interesting to read this mystery book. Piper was on the case. She is a very smart detective. She wasn’t afraid to find out what was happening at the warehouse.
