This new edition of a well-known classic by Father Josef Jungmann on the Canon of the Mass is timely. Father Jungmann was the chief architect on whose work the Constitution on the Liturgy and the Missal of Pope Paul VI was based and it is mainly because his findings were issued before the promulgation of the Pope Paul VI missal which made them effective, that the need for revisions in this edition is relatively small. -- FROM BACK COVER. . . . . . . Two stars for this. It's informative certainly, and consists of four essays, so is relatively short. It summarises in a way the liturgical theology of one of the first sources for the construction of the new Roman Mass in the 1960s, when scholarship of this sort was allowed full access to modify or destroy what had been before. And I have no good way to end this review.
