After her family moves across the country and she starts at a new school, Shelby Bloom struggles to make friends and find her place. She tries to share other kids' interests but doesn't fit in with the fashionistas, the burping boys, or the rock star wannabes. Finally, Shelby discovers she has more in common with the horse-loving girls than she'd thought, and she finds two friends who love a good laugh almost as much as she does.

If we all stand out, we're outstanding!
Thank you, Netgalley and the author for this opportunity to provide my honest-to-goodness review in exchange for the free ARC.
Cute book, on the slightly repetitive side. "We love fashion."
Lessons to be learned for our young ones: (in the voice of my 7-year-old girlchild) "It's good to be different, but be kind, don't lie, and don't let people judge you."
The chapter titles are cute. The illustrations are great; props to the artist.
Shelby is the funny girl, with her little quips perfect for the younger audience. My daughter really enjoyed reading this with me.
This was a cute story, perfect for kiddos who have moved and are starting st a new school. The main character is relatable and likeable, and her struggles are similar to what many kids may go through. It also gives a good outside perspective to students who haven’t been through a situation like hers. The jokes peppered throughout are an added bonus - I can already envision several students stopping their reading to tell me some of them! And the story will appeal to animal lovers as well. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!
