When you have many worlds to choose from, what really matters? A Regency lady, a mercenary hacker and a secret mage, Elizabeth Randolph is heir to a dynasty who make the many worlds of the multiverse their home and playground. Called home for a family celebration she is drawn into the investigation of a murder the solving of which will cross realities and place her and those she loves in great danger. To solve the mystery she will have to delve deep into intrigues both at home and in a grim dystopian city on the edge of collapse, pursuing ancient trails and secrets and taking a step beyond Context.
Finn lives in the north of England and spends too much time in other worlds courtesy of books he reads, writing he attempts and roleplaying games he runs far too often for his own good.
Occasionally he is known to attempt poetry but plays fair and always sounds klaxons first to allow innocent bystanders to take cover.
This is not a genre I usually read, but then I have never come across a genre quite like this before. I read this book on the recommendation of a friend and I'm glad I did. I was gripped from start to finish and I hope there will be more books to come. I'm not sure how I would describe it, it's seems to be as though Georgette Heyer has written Blade Runner, I hope I don't offend the author by saying this.
