The Princes of Books 4-6 Growing up Badass has its advantages, being treated like a Brother as a grown woman isn't one of them. Sheila struggles to find herself after being raped. Jax shows her how a woman should be treated while adding hopes and dreams to her baggage, along with the kids, dog and an RV. Often overlooked, Brantley finally gets noticed. He's the only Officer that's a single dad and shows his Brothers that he's not only capable but Badass too. Our resident IT geek offers Holly protection and falls hard and fast before realizing how much of an old lady she already is. PTSD is Taylor's story. Heart-wrenching memories hit him hard. His Brothers have his back but it's Beth that gives him a reason to fight and he does. The Brothers show Beth how they take care of their own while showing Taylor they'll ALWAYS have his back.
L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal. L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers. With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet
I started reading The MC, then The Baxters, then the Prince of Prophecies. I read a lot of series but very few one story after another. Since I have started the books by L. Ann Marie I have not read any other books. This is not because she is the best writer I have ever read or that her books have no grammatical errors (the woman is nuts with commas) but her fleshing out her characters so you start seeing them as real persons in your head. She creates a great world building with people!e with extraordinary abilities, plenty of sexy times, suspense, action, violence, and instalove with one or more partners. Each book moves seamlessly to the next and always include people from other books. Is it a realistic world. Not really but it feels like one. Taylor's book touches heavily on PTSD, a condition that many of us deal with. It deals with triggers, how it affects everyone around them, what support really looks like and a lot more. It is a great series and if I could think of one word to describe them I would say LOVE, love of family, love of brothers and their "community", love of children, love of partners.love of freedom, and love of justice. Give the books a try, you might just love them.
Re-reading again! This is one of the funniest book out of all of L.Ann's books for me. We get such an additional insight to all the other characters in this one more so than any of the others. I'm not spoiling for anyone so you'll just have to read for yourself. Not only do we get new music ideas(for me in the UK anyway) but Jax 'cracks me up with trying for names for Shelia. I've not laughed so hard and so much for bloody ages. I adore also that L.Ann finds different ways of teaching their lesson repeatedly. You totally rock L.Ann. Thank you for reminding me that there are still good, positive reasons for pushing forward when the chip are down. Fuckin adore Badass.
L. Ann Marie has shown time and time again, just how much she gets the biker and military life. Brotherhood and Sisterhood are supernova strong in her world.
Sniper, Taylor's story, hits me personally. Combat veterans, they have such a hard time adjusting to "real" civilian life. Sometimes, they need help in making that adjustment.
Wow I adore this series. Just reareadng these books again I’d forgotten some small bits here and there and it was a complete delight to be reminded just how special these books are. I can’t recommend these books highly enough. They’re full of everything to keep you engrossed in them. Action, drama and so much love it’s amazing.
I have been immersed in this series that started with The Baxters for a little over a week, it just keeps getting better with each one. It has the gamut of emotions and badassery. Must be read in the order this author writes them, which is in the back of the books. This series is well worth the read. Five stars only because it doesn't go higher than that.
I loved this. I am so glad that it covered PTSD. So many are affected by it, but no one wants to talk about it. These people fault for our freedom and should be cared for and honored. L. Ann Marie Thank you and Thank you to all the Men and Women who gave everything to protect our freedoms.
I love this authors books. They are loaded with everything I want. She is a special, gifted writer! I'm on my second time reading these series, but this time I get to read them back to back all the way through.
