Take one bored office worker. Add copious amounts of alcohol and three fun loving, conspiratorial friends.
Spice things up with a large handful of practical jokes.
Throw in a mysterious girl, a large twist of fate and a generous measure of guilt.
Combine with a long-standing feud, four blow-up dolls and a tortoise (optional).
Mix well, preferably in the pub, and chill for at least four hours.
Finally, bring all the ingredients together and you have a recipe for a laugh-out-loud comedy adventure.
Due to its strong and robust content this may not be to everyone's taste, but for the broadminded it shouldn't leave a nasty taste in the mouth.
It's like Marmite - You'll either love it or hate it.

About the author

Nick Higgins

2 books
'Phew, writing your first novel can be very stressful. At least I've cut down to one a day.'

Nick Higgins was born in Bristol in 1957 and is a retired Civil Servant. He lives in Devon with his wife and two children, four grand children and two dogs.
His career in the Civil Service took him all around Europe on various projects, exchanges and operations. The majority of his service was spent at sea, during which time he gained numerous engineering and maritime qualifications. Alongside these he also gained a wealth of experience and knowledge about human nature, close knit relationships and comradeship (along with a taste for copious amounts of red wine). Being locked in a steel box for 37 years with a bunch of nutters gives a wealth of experience and tales to draw upon.
His formative years in Bristol were tough. The walk to Primary School, skirting the burnt-out shells of cars, smouldering council houses and bomb craters, wasn't for the feint-hearted. Hitler's Luftwaffe? No, St Anne's was a very rough area.
Nick is currently working on the sequel to Rhino Hunt, entitled Rhino Hunted - The Munter with the Dolphin Tattoo.
His Probation Officer said he wouldn't amount to much, but he is now a best selling international author. He has sold more books than anyone in his family. His sales span the globe with one sold in Australia, one in USA and quite a few in Wales and Scotland.
Enjoy.

I love Marmite

Yes I read introductions and this one almost made me delete the book. Then on to the first chapter and it was, What the hell am I reading? But my interest had been stirred as I could relate to the odd paragraph. My advice to anyone would be, for one SKIP the damn introduction and get to the end of chapter one. BLOODY HILARIOUS is what comes to mind. There were so many occasions that I scared the life out of my poor family and people unfortunate enough to be in my vicinity by bursting into real belly shaking laughter. I actually read out loud several pages so my hubby and family wouldn't think I was losing my marbles with the outbursts of raucous laughter. I was literally crying when trying to read the Vic and Fluffy incident. My friends are as nuts as me so I will be recommending they read this book real soon. A seriously hilarious book that will send your giggle-ometer into the red and beyond. Just go for it and laugh out loud. It is truly the best medicine and this book has an endless supply. Thank you Nick for writing one of the best, hilarious and stress relieving books I have ever read. Marmite loving, Eileen xx

Some debut

Had me snorting with laughter. Kind of Irving Welch with absurdity by Pratchett. Well written protagonist and believable cast makes for a highly entertaining read.

Instant happiness!

The NHS should provide this book on prescription. A true spirit lifter, with a fascinating cast...if that's the correct word.

This book had me giggling as I read it , its a well-paced well-written book, the basic storyline is an about a lad that is a bit of a joker, his three mates and their adventures . its all boys will be boys stuff but with a bit of twist at the end . a good read but i feel it will be a marmite book, some will read to the end and love it some will do two chapters and drop it

Think hunt

An excellent book. Plenty of humour along with a good plot and even touching on the sensitive subject of cancer. Looking forward to the next one.

What a brilliant read!!!

This was a super, laugh out loud, tale of debauchery, male friendship and the righting of wrongs. I was hooked, from the first to the last page. It was such an entertaining book that I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Great story

Enjoyed this book very much. I has trouble putting it down and that's not happened in a long time.
This book is a good read for anyone with a very broad sense of humour.

Marmite

Can't stand the bloody stuff but loved this read. More of the same please and sooner rather than later. Outrageous? Maybe. Hilarious? Definitely!

Oh dear. Either this was self published or this guy needs a new editor. At least 30% too long with all sorts of superfluous content (seriously who writes words to the effect of Sunday nothing much happened??)

And then there's the racism. Mate it's 2018 I'm not sure what generation you're living in but calling black people "coloured" is plain offensive. And no this language wasn't coming from the notional racist character.

£1 not well spent.

Rhino Hunt

This book was by far the best I have read in a long time. I could picture some of the antics since I received a letter from the Aides Association in our area. Good times remembered, no retaliated needed. I laughed through this book until the end. [quietly because my husband still sleeps with me. Rhino Hunt is some great reading. Good job on your first book wrote, stick with it please.

This is a hilarious comedy novel, the first book by Nick Higgins.

There are many adult or shocking situations, so it's not for very young readers.

However, there is a good storyline and it's a fun easy read.
