Wow, well, that was a hell of a read. I got bogged down in it -- I kind of wish he didn't translate the names since, the characters and spirits I did know by their Japanese phonetics I didn't know while reading this -- and it required a bit of research to connect them. Anyways, I loved getting the information out of this -- but the actual act of reading Mr. Wheelers prose was painful....

Anyways -- that was step one in my attempt to read the bulk of the Japanese classics. I guess Tale of Genji was like, taking step 5 first, but whatever :)
