I found these critical works a bit more compelling than the other Pan collection I read. The writing was not as flashy or engrossing as Kavey's, but the research and argumentation was more solid here. Kavey seemed to want to be trendy at times - perhaps a bit too trendy. This collection goes with less trendy, but still fascinating interpretations - everything from Lacan to postcolonialism to gender studies (everyone's favorite topic with Pan). Still some cool topics here, though, as well. Everyone loves Pirate chapters.

Badly written essays. I was disappointed by the fact that I kept trying to take notes, but the essays never got to the point.
