For over 30 years, Mozelle Martin has worked in the mental health field. With a Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology and a Doctorate in Transcendental Psychology, she has contracted with jails, prisons, and other mental health agencies. Due to this vast experience, she understands the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) which is the handbook used by health care professionals across the United States and much of the world. In this book, Mozelle Martin isolates the most common of those symptoms and shows how they reveal themselves through handwriting. The diagnoses discussed in this book include Bipolar, Borderline Personality, Dissociative Identity, Oppositional Defiance, Obsessive-Compulsive, Schizophrenia, and more. This book does not contain industry jargon or fluff. This book was written for awareness within the general public.
This is great. I have worked in an inpatient hospital as an administrator for 5 years. Although this book is old and she has much more education than this, I used the tips in the book to look up patient files to compare. Every single time, the indicators in the book matched their actual DMS-IV-TR diagnosis. Very interesting. Not meant to diagnose anyone, this is written for public awareness because too many people just label others "crazy" without considering that there really could be a mental illness causing the strange behaviors.
I just received this and am 1/2 way though. I pulled out all the handwriting samples I got over Christmas and it's amazing what I am finding. I have called the people who I suspected had some of the issues presented in this book and they verified it was accurate. Made for interesting conversations with me and my friends and family members.
