Describes the weather conditions, plant and animal life, and human activity in the four cold climate regions of the the poles, the tundra, subarctic regions, and highlands
Keith Lye is the author of many books including "The New Children's Illustrated Atlas of the World," "The Complete Atlas of the World" and "Atlas in the Round."
This is somewhat dated now, but still informative, and an easy way for kids to learn about cold climates. I liked that the book was broken up into sections based on different regions and I liked that the subsections included stuff about plants and animals as well as people who live in those climates. The global warming stuff towards the end was surprisingly informative given that this book was published over five years ago... Still, I think I'd try to find something more recent if I was going to try to learn about cold climates.
