Erzulie You would think being named after the goddess of love meant I had great luck with men. Tuh! Try again. After a bad Valentine's Day date leaves me reeling, I run into Apollo on my way out the door. He's easily one of the most gorgeous men I've ever met, but he's engaged to a woman who's quickly put me on the top of her sh*t list. But when I'm at my lowest, he brings me an offer I can't resist, and now I'm being forced to consider everything I thought I knew about life, love, and class...
Apollo
Oil and wealth. Those are the primary drivers of my life. But when a forced engagement to an oil tycoon's daughter is thrown on me, I need to find a solution - and quick. Henriette is pretty, but she's vapid. Most of all, she's everything I dislike in a woman, down to her mentality and disdain for others. Erzulie will play a big role in helping me eliminate Henriette from my life, but first I'll have to convince her my intentions, no matter what, are honest...
Valentine's Bae is a salacious, steamy New Orleans Valentine's Day romance read that's filled with heart-pumping drama, surprising twists, and a happy ending guaranteed. Be advised there is some language in this book, and a scene regarding a prejudiced POV from a supporting character.
Book ends at 20 percent as there is a HUGE bonus for you when it ends.
Well written story with great storyline and plot. A sweet taboo romance between an older man and a younger woman. It is a nice read. Full of expanse and hotness. But absolutely worth the read. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. A story about daring to take what you want and how to open up for the unknown things. It first was confusing when I read the prologue but of course the answers came soon and it was an extradinary story. The characters are well described and develops in a good way.
I love the journey towards their HEA. There are laughs, drama, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Great romance with a twist and very enjoyable read though. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes better of than without it. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This read was amazing, I loved it all, the older man/younger woman that Mia Madison is known for and this one didn’t disappoint. Apollo is engaged to a nasty piece of work and he bumps into Erzulie one night in a restaurant & then the next day when his fiancée, Henriette, drags him to where their wedding will be held. Erzulie works there and plans the events but Henriette remembers her from before so she berates, demands, demeans and makes Erzulie fell like gum on the bottom of a shoe, so she excuses herself. Apollo catches up to her to apologize after he puts his fiancée in place but that doesn’t stop Henriette and gets Erzulie in trouble at work. Once again Apollo steps in but he also comes up with a plan to get rid of his nasty fiancée and still be with Erzulie...got to read what happens and what his plan is. A great great read with steamy scenes, a kind older man, a beautiful young woman, and a nasty piece of work. I loved how charming Apollo was and how it wasn’t insta love with them, maybe insta lust but they work on the love part. There were parts when I wanted to slap Henriette & I was ECSTATIC when it did happen but from someone I never would have guessed. I also enjoyed the fact that Apollo & Erzulie were honest with each other, he is honest with his situation as is she....loved it. I did feel very very sorry for his brother and couldn’t understand his feelings & I would love to read a book about him finally seeing who Henriette really is w/o the rose goggles & her getting another dose of karma by him finding true love with another as she is irredeemable in my eyes & I don’t think I would like a book where she gets a HEA. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I loved this quick and fun read from Ms Madison. Ezrulie and Apollo were such a great couple. The connection was here from the start when Erzulie literally runs into him while leaving a terrible situation. Herriette, Apollo's forced fiance was so nasty and vial. I enjoyed the part where Apollo's mom put Herriette in her place defending Erzulie and also letting her own husband know that he needed to accept the fact that Apollo had every right to make his own decisions and the future of their company did not rest on the two families merging together through marriage. Madam Marie was a great addition to the story and I liked how she played a part in Erzulie finding her HEA!
This was an okay read I liked Apollo and Erzulie and I felt that if they had a longer story it would have been even better. Everything to me just felt rushed and I would have liked to see more of a slow build up of the relationship. Henriette drove me absolutely nuts and I even found myself skimming over some parts. I'm giving this a 3 star review because it has a lot of potential and is a great storyline but it just seemed to rushed to me.
I love older men/younger women books. She is named after the godess of love but that is where it ends. Her luck with men is null. She meets Apollo who is rich and made to get engaged to a rich bitch. She is selfish, manipulative, cold and so much more. This book has twists and turns, excitement, is emotional, suspenseful and so much more. I highly recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This kind of tried to combine too many parallels to too many different mythologies. It's not that the melange of cultures aren't realistic or possible, it's that they get jumbled and short shrift in the novella-length treatment. Combined with an atrocious lack of copy editing, the result is messy, and damages what could have been a truly unique story.
Valentine’s Bae by Mia Madison The relationship between the main characters was wonderful. I enjoyed reading this story. "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."
A steamy Valentine's Day older man/younger woman romance story with a great storyline and well-developed characters. It's got plenty of drama, humor, twists, hot scenes, passion, and a guaranteed HEA.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Overall this was a crazy story but nice read. Apollo and Erzulie connection due to accidental meeting and touch was magic. Secondary characters added to the story. Recommend
I really, really enjoyed this! Their love story was different but one I can truly see happening and being so real. God and the lesson on Karma and tolerance was awesome! Thank you for such a good book Mia! SN: The Original's is my favorite show and it doesn't get much hotter than klaus!
I've previously enjoyed other books by this author; however, was off to a bad start when the date the h had with Charles, was later referred to as Chris. Confusing. Add to that the book ended at 18% and included "bonus" content of 4-5 books I'd previously read. Disappointed.
📚I am honestly and voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader's copy of this 📱📚 Fun, fast, sexy read. Apollo and Erzulie were interesting characters, but I didn't connect with them. An OK read
