Agent Candor doesn't do love. Senator Thomas lost his wife several years ago and thought he'd never meet another woman who would interest him. When Candor saves Thomas from a bullet, he takes notice of her right away and tries to find her. What he doesn't know is Candor is a Female Dominant, a Domme. When these two finally hook up, wow!! The hotness and the sexiness just goes off the charts. I loved watching Thomas find himself sexually and start falling in love again. I was cheering for him all the way. Candor has issues from her past that leave her doubting her ability to love any man. Are they going to be able to work through this or will she leave to escape her feelings and never give Thomas a real try? The story grabbed me from the first. It was interesting and the little twists and turns make you keep turning the pages. To be honest though, I did want to reach through my kindle and smack Candor upside the head!! LOL Talk about one stubborn lady! Anyway, I highly recommend this book if you like reading about this kink in BDSM! Elizabeth knows how to write a female Domme and make is seem like you are right there watching them.

Spanking the Senator is the second novella in The Justice Series. It is a total stand-alone with a touching storyline and interesting, relatable characters. Finding love a second time around can be hard, but moving forward through grief to find it after losing your soulmate may seem impossible.

Senator Thomas Kincaid may not have been looking for love but once he met Secret Service Agent Candor Moore, his body started to come alive again. Thomas hasn’t dated in years and things have changed. He has a lot to learn about wooing a woman. He has never experienced someone as confident and bold as Candor but she has his private parts twitching and he is open to seeing if they can make something out of their mutual attraction.

Candor Moore isn’t looking for love or a relationship, but a man she can dominate entices her. She decides to put Thomas out of his misery and put him to the test. His obedience and reaction to her outright boldness pleases her immensely. Maybe she can make time for a little R & R. Montana sounds amazing and the perfect place to see just how far Thomas is willing to submit.

I fell in love with Thomas Kincaid and really appreciated reading a story about mature adults who are working through the reality of life and have already experienced many of the best things life has to offer. I pictured Thomas as a slightly greying silver fox and after Ms. SaFleur added Wranglers and a Montana ranch into the mix, I was smitten. I found the bedroom scenes hot and steamy but a little tamer than some of Elizabeth's other works. Some of the scenes left me wanting more as they left too much to my imagination. This is the only reason for the 4 star.

Once again, Elizabeth SaFleur has written a story that drew me in to the world of the characters and I wanted more when it all came to a surprising end. I truly loved the story and I highly recommend it.

Senator Thomas Kincaid (Montana, 45) & Secret Service Agent Candor Moore (33).

She manhandled him into an office during an active shooter event at the Capitol & he decided he wanted her to manhandle him some more during their personal time. She’s a Domme, while he never realized he was kinky … although his late wife was certainly a dominant figure in their marriage.

After she’s injured in an unrelated event, she’s put on leave for 2 weeks and he wisks her to his Montana Ranch for horseback riding and messing around in the tact room. He falls first, while she tries to maintain the distance necessary to being a Secret Service Agent.

She lifted her chin. “I’m not going to be a senator’s wife.”

He sat back against the cushions. “That’s good because I haven’t asked you to marry me, and I’d hate to have to duel whoever proposed to you.”

Another half-maniacal laugh escaped her throat. “You always make me laugh.”

“Marriages have been built on far less.” He raised his hands. “Not that I’m proposing.”

“Don’t you dare.”

He eyed her. “I won’t. But I won’t stop loving you.”

“Please do,” she said.

He leaned down. “Sorry, Mistress Angel, but my love is nonreturnable. It’s yours, irrevocably. No marriage required. You can stomp on my heart, break it, shoot holes in it with your mad shooting skills—”

“Left my gun in the United baggage area,” she said wryly. “They might not give it back after this incident.”

“I doubt that. You’re too good.” He huffed a laugh, and they fell into silence once more.

“I get you’re scared, Candor.” He held up his hand. “Yes, Candor. Scared. That doesn’t make you any less powerful or less of a Mistress. In fact, it makes you smart. Love isn’t anything to go into lightly.Losing is too hard.”

“I don’t lose,” she said. “I can’t afford it.”

“You lost once, didn’t you? I mean . . . your father.”

“I did. I wasn’t fast enough.”

“You were, what? Twenty-two? Yeah, sorry, I got your file. The one I’m not supposed to have. Sue me.” He shrugged. “But here’s what I’m going to do.” He rose and held out his hand. “I’m going to take a bullet for you.”

Her breath hitched, not understanding. “What?”

“I’m letting you go. Come on, I’ll take you to the airport.” He pulled her to standing and moved toward the door.

She pulled her arm free. “You don’t need to do that.”

“Oh, yes, I do.”

“Thomas, you don’t need to—”

“Oh, I need to, Mistress Angel. I need to do a great many things. You wanted me to surrender to you? I am. Fully. I’m following your wishes. Well, except for one—that loving thing. You’re going to have to live with that.” He gave her that lopsided smile that twisted her insides, always had. Damnit, everything about Thomas Kincaid had her in knots.

“I can’t be a senator’s wife,” she repeated.

“Like I said, I haven’t proposed.”

“You need a wife.”

“Says who? I’d rather have a Mistress. I’d rather have you.”

“You say that now . . .” She shook her head at him. “You need to stop with this love thing.”

His eyes darkened. He turned and strode to his desk, picking up something. When he faced her, he held a riding crop in his hand. “Here. Try to beat it out of me.”

“You brought a crop to your office?” He walked to her and handed it to her. She didn’t recognize the design. The popper was a long, thick leather loop, the thick handle made of silver. She felt the weight in her hand and out of pure instinct swung it in the room, the sharp slice through the air comforting her.

“Look at the handle,” he said. Mistress Angel was etched into the silver handle. “I had it made up for you after that first day in the tack room. It arrived this morning.”

“The congressional mail room—”

“Knows I ride. They don’t have to know the real reason.”

“This etching—”

“Is also the name of a filly born three days ago. Chief’s brother sired her. Another present.” He shrugged. “You should have your own horse, for when we’re in Montana. Consider her a nonengagement present.”

She looked up at him, a little dazed. “You’re not letting go of this are you?”

“I’m not letting go of you. You can. But I won’t.” He sank to his knees.

“Thomas . . .”

“Please, Mistress Angel, will you not marry me for the rest of your life? Honor, love, and let me obey you? Will you . . . Hey.” He rose to stand again. This time he wiped emotion from under her eyes.

“I don’t cry,” she said.

“You’re my Mistress. You can do anything you want.”

“Good answer,” she said through her obvious tears.

“I’m not giving up on tradition, but I figure we can make our own version of it. Really, what I want is to be with you. Committed. So . . .” He gestured to the crop again and his mouth quirked up. “After we go riding, you can bend me over your saddle, which is also on its way, and have your way with me, but I want forever. I’m not letting anyone else spank me in a tack room, that’s for sure.”

Even though I received an advanced copy from the author, I always purchase her books.

Even though the Femme Domme genre is really not my cup of tea, it is this author's fantastic storytelling that made me want to read this book and I was not disappointed.

Thomas is the epitome of a good guy - loving, morally just, caring, respectful of women, etc. and he tracks down and falls for the Angel that saved him from a deranged shooter. Candor's life is well ordered and she likes to be in control at all times. Candor knows that caring and loving bring heartache and pain but she ever so slowly (and I mean snail slow not tortoise slow) realizes that she is changing.

There were times in the book where I just wanted to smack Candor upside the head to knock some sense into her and hopefully, make her realize what she was doing to Thomas and herself by continually denying that she felt anything. The scenes are steaming but not over the top caricatures and all the play is private (no clubs). If you are not into the genre or scenes, they are easily skipped over and nothing is lost in this great story.

As usual, I was left wanting more. I really love when an author includes an epilogue and sadly there isn't one in this book but on the bright side - the story is left open in case the author wants to bring these characters back :)

I am still fanning myself from this jewel! This is one I don't ever, ever want to forget. Sexy, smart, and sinfully fun. Elizabeth SaFleur entertains us with a story of breaking down barriers, hope, and finding love again even if it means you're out of control. Candor Moore is a secret service agent who is always in control of every aspect of her life. When she meets the widowed senator Kincaid she wants nothing more than to exercise her control in a more personal way. Thomas Kincaid has other ideas, too bad he believes in romance, hearts, and true love.
A delicious read with Capitol Hill banter, scandalous innuendos, and behind the bedroom door hotness everyone wants to know about, but is afraid to ask. I loved Candor's strong vulnerability and Thomas' charismatic sensitivity the most. Just a brilliantly, fun read!

OMG! I love them!
Candor, femme Dom, skilled secret agent meets Thomas, powerful and respected senator. He is so perfect for her. He's patient but strong willed. She is perfect for him. Dominant but not too strong.
They are married to their jobs. Making their relationship works will be a challenge. And it is only if Candor can commit!

The sex scenes are sensual, hot and will melt your panties!! In this book it's more about control than pain.
I won't say anything else or it would be a spoiler.
Just read it! You'll love it!

Oh to be a fly on the wall on Capitol Hill!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for SPANKING THE SENATOR (The Justice Series, Book #2) written by Elizabeth SaFleur and voluntarily reviewed this book. The Secret Security detail was something Senator Thomas Kincaid never paid attention to, really, until one day an angel saves his life, and now he couldn’t think of anything else but seeing her again. It has been a few years since his wife died, and he misses the intimacy of being in a relationship. Candor Moore has spend the last few years trying to establish her career, and she has done it. She doesn’t need the intimacy, but she does miss sex and the release it gives her. But it is also even harder to find the right man, and it has been way too long. So what happens when two people who have focused solely on their careers come together? The chemistry between Thomas and Candor is absolutely HOT, as Candor takes the lead to their relationship and gives Thomas back the gift of something he didn’t even realize he was missing in his life..besides her. Now it is up to Thomas to convince his own personal angel that they have something together that is worth fighting for as well.

Absolutely looking forward to more reads from this author!

No one sees the secret service - until they do. While going about their day, 2 senators are shoved unceremoniously into a room by a secret service agent. Thomas is a widower who hasn't so much as looked at another woman since his wife's death, but there's something about Candor that captivates him. Candor is devoted to her career and has no place for romance in her life. However she would love to have a submissive as a form of release from the stresses of her work. What's a Mistress to do? Despite her not wanting romance, she agrees to see Thomas and decides to feel him out to see how things might work on a temporary basis. Then, the games really begin. This book was extremely well written and had an encompassing range of feelings and emotions that were exposed to the reader. It reeled you in and held you captive to see how the story would play out. Ancillary characters were not minimized in this tale. They were a big part of the lives of Thomas and Candor and reaffirmed beautifully the type of inner character our couple was made of. I appreciate not being left in the dark in a book that contains play. I would recommend this read.

How does a Senator get back in the dating/relationship game after 18 years of marriage and four years of being a widower? Certainly not with a stoic female Secret Service Agent who is also a Domme.

After being pushed out of harm's way by Agent Candor Moore, Senator Thomas Kinkaide can't get her out of his head. He finds himself mumbling and stumbling when he's around her. Candor is attracted to Thomas but needs to find out if he's willing to do things her way. She slowly introduces Thomas to her Mistress side and he becomes a willing participant. An idyllic two week trip to Montana gives them both lots of time to explore their relationship and also for feelings to develop. While Thomas embraces those feelings, Candor runs from them. Afterall, she's married to her job, right?

Thomas' vulnerability was endearing as he learned to live and love again with Candor. Her soft underside shown through in her interactions with thevyoung Franco. Both characters were so finely detailed that you couldn't help but care about them. Elizabeth Safleur crafts stories that are both enjoyable and entertaining to read.

His Love is Non-Returnable. Superb Read.
I have read a few of this Superb Authors books mostly around A Dom, I love a dominant character. So was not sure about reading about a Domme, but wow this read blew me away. Candor was firm but oh so emotionally tactful and really sexy. I loved how she handled the noisy next door neighbours with such tact, care and sensitivity. She couldn’t love but she certainly loved Franco the son of the neighbours, I wept with her love and care. Candor is a Secret Service operative in US Capitol building where she met Senator Thomas Kincaid whose wife had tragically died. He was smitten with Candor straight away. He was bewitched and bewildered by Candor and couldn’t get the metal of her. She knew he needed a dominant woman. She was his guardian angel and his Mistress Angel. Thomas was meant to be with this woman and wanted her to need him like he needed her. I absolutely loved this authors really well written and emotional, sexy read which I highly recommend as a must read. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.

This second book in the Justice Series by Elizabeth SaFleur keeps the delicious and decadently erotic story going the way I like them. I enjoyed the character interaction between the dominant female and the submissive male character. The author wrote this story from the perspective of the domme which I truly liked, as she was the one who spelled out what was going to happen and when, not the male she thought she was going to control. And, of course, who wouldn't enjoy the tantalizing teasing foreplay and BDSM play, I know I did very much so. I certainly hope she considers writing more and more books in this justice series. This is a voluntary review of this book.

When I promised to read Spanking the Senator, I really wasn't sure I was going to like it. To say I was reluctant with the notion of the 'dominant' female, would be a gross understatement. But I was determined to embark on the journey with an open mind.

While I'm still not sure this male/female dynamic is my cup of tea, I can say with certainty that this author writes an easy to read, engaging story. I loved Thomas Kincaid and Candor Moore, two very strong personalities in a pleasing, although somewhat unconventional, contemporary romance.

OMG another awesome read by Elizabeth. I totally loved this book from beginning to end.

A senator who lost wife and never thought that he would find love again. Until he life was saved by a secret service agent in more ways then one.

She just thought about work and nothing else she didn't want a relationship or a marriage with anyone because she was in love with her work.

But could the man of her dreams be right in front of her or would she pass up a chance at happiness and leave someone that she's falling in love and won't admit to herself.

Agent Candor Moore a tough Secret Service Agent and Senator Thomas Kincaed find each other under the most stressful situation. A person has gotten on Capital Hill with a gun. She goes goes into protection mode. Senator Kincaed loves the way she takes control. To his surprise she is a Domme and he loves it and her. Read to see how this story ends! Loved it!

Elizabeth SaFleur has a bewitching way with words, she pulls you in from the very first page and I can't get enough. Her books are always fun and interesting to say the least!
Thomas and Candor are thrown together from the very beginning because of a shooter in the Capital and from there you can imagine what happen especially with that title!!
I just love the heck out of this author's books!!

The second one in this series did match up with the first one.
A strong secret service lady meets a senator, when rescuing him from an attack. The following the story where she has to realise that love is not the same as weakness. I loved it.

Loved the characters and story.

New author for me but I’m hooked. I’m tired of seeing the “Billionaire saving the needy female. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the authors and stories are in my favorite category now. But I would love to see more stories like this. This story has heart, humor and grit. Who couldn’t fall in love with the Senator. Especially since he was willing to learn and lean into something new and exciting. Well written and nice spice. This is more my speed. I have more stories to read . Oh btw, can there be a follow up story on this couple?❤️👍🏽

Candor is strong, capable, and a Secret Service agent, she has no time or interest in relationships. Thomas Kincaid is a US Senator and is instantly attracted to and interested in the beautiful agent that protects him and another senator from a dangerous citizen on Capital Hill. Candor agrees to dinner with the persistent, handsome senator and is sure he will run the other way when he finds out what her expectations will be in an intimate relationship. Thomas doesn't run though, and he wants more from Candor than she believes she can offer him.
Sexy, sizzling hot, and strong characters that will have to move on from past losses in order to make a life together. I didn't want to put this book down, totally engrossing and unique plot, a must read romance. I loved this book.
