In the first two books, you meet Bryant and learn that he is a level-headed man who will do anything to help a friend. But there is more to Bryant then meets the eye. He is level headed but he is also hiding a lot from his family and life in general. When Dhameer makes his appearance to Bryant and grants him the wish that he really wants, you think like Bryant, that you know his wish. But as the story progresses there are a lot of road blocks that make Bryant go along different routes. I am not going to give away spoilers for this story, you are going to have to read it for yourself.
But what I will talk about is the fact that this story shows that everyone has something to hide. Everyone wants to be accepted for who they are but many have a hard time letting the world see that person. I love how different Dhameer treats each group, while for Tibby and Seth, Tibby has 3 wishes and she gets do overs. For Olivia and Xavier, Dhameer doesn’t make more than a couple of appearances and lets Xavier figure things out without knowing that Dhameer was there. Then you have Bryant, who sees Dhameer and gets frustrated with not getting straight answers from him.
