Hebrew Word Study: Beyond the Lexicon

Rate this book
Many Christians long to study the Word of God in the original Hebrew. They will take Hebrew classes at a college, a synagogue, or online and often become discouraged because these classes either teach them to speak Hebrew or spend considerable time teaching complex rules of grammar when all these Christians want to do is find Gods heart and message in His Word. As a result, these Christians usually give up and just go to the back of their Strongs Concordance, a lexicon, or a Bible dictionary to look up a word. This book is written for the Christian who does not want to learn to speak Hebrew or spend long hours trying to understand complex rules of grammar. All they want is to know if there is a deeper meaning to certain Hebrew words. Even after looking up a word in their lexicon, they are still left with a nagging feeling that there must be more. In most cases there is more, and this book will give some guidelines in how to drill down into the very heart, soul, and core of a Hebrew word; it will take you to a world beyond your lexicon, and you do not need a PhD to do it. The only thing you will need is to love the Word of God, and if you love it enough, it will reveal its secrets. Hebrew is a language of the heart, and if you love God enough, He will reveal His heart to you through the ancient Hebrew language.

Great Must Read Book

The moment I started reading the first book that I bought written by Bentorah a calmness came over me that I couldn't explain . I believe the Author explains this in this book .
When he writes about what we do to God's heart ,I understood it just as he wrote it . Then suddenly I saw the roles reversed and I also saw what God can do to our hearts . The sister/bride I saw as the loving tenderness of God. What resonated with me was the stripping away the bark . My sister had a fruit tree that wouldn't bear fruit until one day her dog chewed some of the bark off. After that it started to bear fruit . Someone told her that sometimes trees had to be " shocked" in order become fruitful . I highly recommend all the books by Chaim Bentorah and believe every Christian could benefit from his books .

Very good but not as accessible as many of his other books. This is probably of more interest to someone who is planning to dig more deeply into learning the Hebrew language for themselves

This book is absolutely fascinating! My star rating is based on the lack of grammatical editing. I still recommend this book just a friendly heads up for the plethora of obvious editorial issues.

A must for serious Bible readers

Anyone that wants to understand the intricacies of the Hebrew language must read this book. A casual reader will find it tedious and perhaps a little mysterious. Yet the serious student, reader &/or scholar will find it fascinating and enlightening. It will deepen your understanding of God's Word!
