The worst mistakes in journalism history are about to be front page news.
A mysterious letter arrives at every news outlet in Seattle, claiming that the long-lost bones of infamous skyjacker D.B. Cooper are somewhere in the murky waters of Green Lake.
But when office manager Mia Rhodes arrives at the lake, there are no bones. Just a group of ravenous reporters and a strange drone hovering over the scene. Along with the entire Seattle media, Mia is lead on a chase through the city that reveals a murderous plot aiming to destroy the U.S. media forever.
And as the motives of the killer emerge, Mia realizes that she's the only one who can stop it.
A gripping short story by the bestselling author of The Alex Vane Media Thriller series.

D. B. Cooper holds a certain charming attraction to the American public, at least to those of a certain age. We love the clever scoundrel (Han Solo, anyone?), and certainly in movies and TV, we root for them to succeed, to stick it to the man. Or the woman, needs be.
Imagine the reaction, then, when media outlets across Seattle receive a note indicating that D. B. Cooper's bones will be revealed at Green Lake. Imagine the reaction when something else is discovered instead. Mia Rhodes, not particularly a reporter but covering the story anyway, is thrust into a life or death chase.
This is a taut little thriller full of suspense and drama, and a little murder thrown in for good measure ("Bones" is in the title, so you have expect at least a modicum of death, right? no spoiler for you). While short, this is a fairly satisfying read. My only real ding against it: in Kindle parlance, this contains 1001 locations, but the story ends at approximately location 422. The rest contains a preview of a novel by the author. The story is good, and what I've read of the preview is also good, but it's over half the size of the download. I really expected more for my money.

Irresponsible media exploitation of the names of people charged with horrific crimes, and a failure to publicly, and immediately, confirm the innocence of those people when their innocence is proven, is a major weakness in the “If it bleeds, it leads” approach to reporting. Toss in drone technology, and A.C. Fuller provides a short story with some clout.
Check out his Alex Vane investigative journalism series. And for an especially meaningful look at a perspective that would uplift an electoral process that is riddled with pitfalls, have a look at Open Primary, first in the Ameritocracy trilogy.
Why only four stars? I find short stories frustrating when there is a sense that a novel would provide a truly impressive and meaningful reading experience. When A. C. Fuller writes a novel, that is what you will get.
This is in the Alex Vane media series.I found this to be a steady fast paced action packed read. This story deals with an old news story a mysterious letter and how the news media can jump to conclusions.Mia Rhodes works for Alex at the barker as his office manager, Mia has barely gotten home and sat down to eat her macaroni and cheese when her cell phone starts ringing.Mia sees it's Alex and dismisses the call, Alex calls Mia's landline telling her he needs Mia at Green Lake on a tip about the old DB Cooper case. This is where the action kicks into high gear, this is a great read I recommend you won't be disappointed.AC Fuller is very good at drawing you into his stories
"An even greater wrong on others." Crowds gather at the edge of a lake, reporters and cameramen, news seeking after the news that a letter has been received stating that bones of a distant past hijacker will be found there. But is it all a game? Or something more sinister?
Once again, a well written and exciting story set in the journalistic world from author, A.C.Fuller. Short and easy to read, the impact is, however, large. Recommended.
Green Lake Bones is a short story that is set in the Alex Vane Media series. It is a good but quick read. The media is so quick to come up with theories and names that they don't always get it right.
This is an interesting story with attractive characters and a great plot. The only problem I had with it was it was too short. Admittedly a lot of action and suspense was contained in its pages, but I ended the book definitely wanting more.
This book makes you think about the role of media and instant access in society. This is hard to talk about without spoilers, so the characters are well developed for a short story. The action and suspense are fast paced.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
