Family Law for Paralegals

Rate this book
Ehrlich (public and community service, U. of Massachusetts-Boston) makes sure the newest interpretations of family law practice are in this edition, including those affecting nontraditional families. Using real-life cases and examples, she covers marriage (including common law marriage and legal recognition of nonmarital couples) and premarital agreements, present legal approaches to domestic violence, law regarding divorce (fault and no-fault) as well as annulment and legal separation, child custody and child support, spousal support, division of marital property, jurisdiction in divorce and the divorce process, determining paternity, child abuse and neglect, and adoption. Although written for undergraduate classroom use, this could also serve as a reference for counselors, social workers, and other professionals working with families. for a text book, which i'm guessing should be neutral, this book was really supportive of same sex marriage and adoptions by same sex couples. definitely not a bad thing! but unusual for a text book
