Carter…

Avoidance had become my norm. After too many tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, I’d checked out—on everyone and everything—on life. Ex-navy SEAL. Totally broken man. I’d hit rock bottom so many times, I was sure I was about to fall straight to hell. It would be a welcome reprieve.
Then she found me. Beautiful, insane and more broken than I was. She needed my help. I needed her humanity.
How she found me was anyone’s guess. But she had. She needed rescuing. She needed a hero. I was none of those things.
But for the first time in many years, I wanted to be. I wanted to be her hero.

Georgia…

Becoming an undercover agent for the CIA had been my dream until everything went wrong—wildly wrong. Trapped in a cage with nothing to do but anticipate more torture from the ones I was supposed to trust, I had no choice but to escape—again. This time I’d succeed or die trying.
They’d turned me into a beast and it was time to show them exactly what I could do.
Finding the beautiful man who could help me end my pain was something I’d never expected—or wanted.
It was a complication for normal people. I wasn’t normal. I would never be normal.

Could two broken pieces make a whole? Could we truly disappear with the government hunting us down like animals?
He was Beauty and I was the Beast. Happily ever afters didn’t happen for people like us.
Or did they?

Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses.

This book is part of the Special Forces: Operation Alpha Kindle Wolds series. Georgia worked for the CIA but ended up being part of a secret project where she has been tortured, turned part animal and kept in a cage for six months. Her only hope is to get Carter, and ex-Navy Seal to help her. This book has it all humor, romance, and action. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Georgia was a new recruit for the CIA, a job she had always wanted, until they decided to turn her into a freak of nature.
Carter was a man who had done and seen too much....ready to pack it in until he met Georgia. She was sent to him by his trusted friend Tex..she needed help and Tex felt Carter was the man who could help her.
When the hills are alive and you throw in a do...re...mi, you find yourself with a fun quick read!

I absolutely loved this novella and the characters! Carter and his siblings are great and I want to read more of them. Georgia is funny, lethal, and a little nutty. There is a lot of action for a shorter read. You get the action, suspense, twists, and hilarious moments along with some sexy romance. Another great read by this author, I hope she writes more in this world! I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

Georgia had a bright career in the CIA ahead of her - until she was "recruited" for an experimental project designed to turn ordinary men and women into super soldiers. After making her escape from the crazy scientists that were keeping her in a cage, she was sent to Carter, a former SEAL that's been living off the grid for years, with the assurance that he is the one man that can protect her from the agents that will be coming after her.

When Carter wakes up, groggy and weak, only to discover he's in a safe house with a beautiful, crazy woman that thinks the government has altered her in ways that can't be possible, he should be wary and make a quick exit. But instead he finds himself completely captivated by her. They quickly take down the team sent to retrieve Georgia and make quick work of heading to one of Carters safe houses.

By the time they reach the safe house, neither can deny the attraction they feel towards one another, and the deep bond they've already formed. But Georgia wants to expose the scientists that made all of the alterations to her body. And she doesn't want to take Carter down with her.

Discovering beauty is action packed, sexy, and funny. There was a lot packed into this novella length installment, and I am really hoping for more installments - there were some side characters that definitely have stories to tell...and I want to hear them!

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

A sensational, giggle inducing, sitting on the edge of your seat romantic suspense from Robyn Peterman that is different than her usual reads but still holds plenty of humor, great characters and such a unique and full of action plot!

When I heard Robyn Peterman was joining Susan Stoker's Kindle World I was SO HAPPY. Her stories are hilarious paranormal romances that make me practically wet myself laughing, but this story somehow was more heavy than her usual work. In Discovering Beauty we get more exciting suspense but with that smile inducing humor that had me chuckling out loud. And her heroine, I ADORED her! She was feisty, brave, beautiful, slightly crazy (in a good way, I swear!) and just amazing. Her hero here is panty melting gorgeous and is caring and protective and these two manage to go on a heck of a ride that had my heart galloping madly in my chest. I was sincerely pleased with Discovering Beauty and I loved every bit of this wild, heart thumping adventure.

Discovering Beauty gets a DELICIOUSLY ENTERTAINING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Trust me, you do NOT want to miss this story!

OMG – Loved it! I am not familiar with this particular Kindle World, or Susan Stoker, so I was going into it blind. I am a big fan of Robyn Peterman, so I got it without even looking at the blurb. However, the blurb made me have second thoughts. I’m used to her paranormal work, would I like her more “standard” fare?

Short answer – YES! This book was hysterical, thrilling, interesting, gripping – and it is going in my “repeatable” file. Going against the norm, Georgia is not the “Beauty” in the title – and that is interesting by itself! As Georgia and Carter discover each other, the lines of ‘beauty’ get blurred, and a love neither thought they’d ever have is born. Overcoming their pasts to embrace their future, Georgia and Carter forge a new path.

I highly recommend this book – but be ready to have some well-known songs from a well-loved musical in your head for a while!

Discovering Beauty had a little bit of everything. There is lots of action and a great story-line that will keep you guessing and turning the pages to see where this author will take you next, and I can honestly it isn't where I thought it might go. There a a few of those hot and steamy scenes that heat things up a little, then there is the humor that lightens things up just enough to make this an outstanding read.

I really enjoyed Georgia, she is such a hoot, even though her circumstances are just horrible, she not only makes the best of it, she manages to get back at the awful people in a way that will have you cheering her on and wondering how the devious mind of the author came up with that scenario, and I have no words for Carter and what a perfect match they make. You will have to read this one for yourself. Enjoy

Overall rating: 5

Characters are spot on and spring to life quickly. This authors skill at hooking a reader in was pristine. Thoroughly loved the light hearted humor that runs through the pages while dealing with what usually is a heavy, emotionally draining scenario. There was just the right amount of heat between the two main characters without taking your focus off their pressing goals. A stand-alone novella, I have been pondering what the next venture will look like. A definite easy recommend. This voluntary review is based against an advance copy.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Georgia from Georgia was turned into "something else" by the government.
Now that she escaped, she needs help staying "escaped"
Carter, or codename: Beauty, is trying to deal w/ this hangover, or is it a hangover?
When danger comes calling, Carter does not have a choice + decides to help Georgia.
No one should suffer any kind of experimentations!
I hope that Caleb + Nancy get their own books as well.
They also deserve a HEA !
Loved the storytelling + the characters!

I loved Discovering Beauty. It was different from Robyn Peterman’s normal writing and I found that I really enjoyed it. Georgia and Carter's story was action packed and a little sad at times but also sweet and funny. I haven’t read any of the other books in this kindle world but this one makes me want to check them out. If you’re looking for a fast past short read I would recommend giving this book a try.

I laughed, and I cried, and I loved this book. Mostly laughed, and I cried only a little- but only because all the Sound of Music references hit a personal note for me (especially Edelweiss). This book really was a lot of fun to read. I actually want more of the story, like more of the backstory of Carter and his siblings, and how they know a certain person at the end. I just want more!!

Love, love, love!

This book is a completely sub-genre from Robyn's normal books but oh my goodness did she nail it. This book is just so dang funny. I love the off-the-charts craziness of this book. There are seriously no boring spots in this book because the hilarity is literally 100% of this novella.

Georgia, "I can hack any computer, build a bomb with my eyes shut, hit a target from a spot that isn't humanly possible...and I can bake. Cakes. I bake really great cakes."

She's awesome and... seriously... cakes! I want cakes!

Of course, I couldn't help but giggle, a lot, when she was "hacking" but after Carter whined about how it shouldn't be taking so long and she confesses that she was playing Soda Candy Crush and had finished 20 minutes earlier... well yeah I could totally see that because I've done stuff like that. Not hacking but finishing something in a short amount of time and then spend the rest playing a game or reading. Hehe.

Okay, if you haven't figured it out yet, I loved the novella and you should go buy it. Now. And if you are new to Robyn Peterman, this will give you an excellent preview of her hilarious writing style so that you can then go out and buy every other amazing book she's written. You won't be disappointed.

Loved It!

This book was a little bit different from the other Special Forces books, but just as fun to read! Don’t skip this book just because it’s different, take a chance and enjoy the ride! I would like to read about some of the other characters in future books.

I love Robyn. This was different than she usually writes but still it was great. The humor that Robyn interjects into a story is refreshing. I am always laughing while reading. I also like the fact that her characters are a little off center. They are so much fun to watch as they evolve. Georgia and Carter are awesome together. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be hearing more from this family.

Robyn hits it out of the park with her move to Suspense/Contemporary. I absolutely adored this novella in the Kindle world of Susan Stoker, she keeps her signature sense of humor and great characters. I am dying to know more about a few characters and I am hoping she writes more in Stoker's world. Because of this I must now go and check out Susan's work :)

I give it more stars if I could!

I loved this well written story!! I freely admit to a true WTH moment when I saw Susan Stoker wrote a book for the Magic and Mayhem Kindle World. But was amazed and delighted by that book. So when this book turned up in this Kindle World I figured the author would have a hard time competing against a book that had hot seals and 3 fat dirty mouthed cats!
But this author provides us with an amazing storyline, that includes Tex, 1 beautiful, crazy, but fit cat, and a hot seal that brings his own brand of crazy and beauty to the party! Can't wait for more from this Kindle World exchange!

Beauty and the Beast

Best book ever! Robyn can write in any genre. And this book has mystery, action, romance and plenty of laughs. Didn't know if I would like her writing contemporary but I love every word. Can't wait for the next book!

What a delightful tale! Robyn has taken on a new genre, a great spy tale (with a touch of romance). Take an ex-CIA agent (sort of) and an ex-Navy Seal. Throw in a secret contact and some wacky family members and you have the perfect boy meets girl (and they kill people) story! I sure hope this becomes a new series!!

Another win!

I’ve followed Robyn’s work since the beginning and have have loved every single book. This one is no different. It’s a cross between CIA special forces meets paranormal after Georgia has been tortured and used by agents gone rouge for a couple of years. Now she’s a beast that’s all kinds of screwed up in the head and dangerous as hell. Until she meets her beast. He calms her and makes her want the happily after that fairytales are made of.

This story sounds as if it’s the beginning to a great series. I can’t wait to read what comes next.

Off beat comedy

This is not a color in the line story, it is more the wild animals got into the paint and the forest looks... different story.
Goofy and smart tragic female lead and a beautiful and deadly messed up male lead form the basis of what should be a very interesting new series.
